The weapons in Gears of War are diverse and have many different utilities. From beams of energy raining down from an orbiting satellite, to pistol with a high rate of fire, to a powerful shotgun, there are certain times to use certain weapons. The different weapons also cater to different styles of play for different types of gamers. If gamers like to sit back and snipe, the Longshot and Torque Bow are valid options. If gamers like close-quarters combat, the Gnasher shotgun is the best weapon to have. For the roles of fire support and assaulting, the Lancer, Hammerburst, and pistols are more practical options.
