"Add to Buddy List" option does what?

I was looking a user\'s profile and I noticed the option to \"Add to buddy list\" and I did so. Now I have one user in my buddy list. What does this do for me? And how can I view my buddy list? Will this create buddy list jealousy? Aren\'t we all buddies here? Just some of my concerns. Thank you for your time.

I think it just notifies you if your buddies make new posts and where. It\'s made for larger forums (Penny-Arcade sized forums) so you can see what they\'re up to. I think they\'re a bit less than useless for us, though.

I don\'t know how to turn the buddy list option off. So, it\'ll have to stay. I don\'t think it\'ll have any real value for us until we get millions of users on the forum.
