We want your HALO 3 screenshots here. Add yours.
The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
I\'ve failed to follow through on a few web projects over the past several months. Tomorrow (Friday), I\'m going to try to upgrade the forums to a newer version of SMF. This will involve creating a test site on the backend and importing this current forum. If things go well, the forum will only be down for a few minutes.
Basic functionality will remain. Site will look the same. Most all current forum features will be included in the new forum. Some other features will require some hacking on my end.
I\'ll keep everyone updated as to the status of the new forum.

Get notified of game nights and important THX announcements via the hushedcasket Twitter account. You can get the messages on your cell phone, through email, Facebook, and many other ways. Here's how it goes down.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
Ok. The website is about to be back online. I need to install the frontend and sidebars that we are accustomed to.
Due to my ignorance, I\'ve lost just about all posts from yesterday. I don\'t figure this to be a big deal.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
We\'ll be running like this for a while. Post if you have any problems with the current software.

Basically, the biggest news is AJAX support.
With AJAW, we can now edit our posts by double-clicking the topic or subject. We can also preview and post without having to reload the page. Give it a try.
Basic changes:
ome of the other notable changes in this release are:
* AJAX editing
o Edit a post without page reloads
o Double click to edit topic subjects on message index (Need quick moderation enabled)
* Added new search features including
o Search within a topic
o Search within personal messages
o Search participation levels are now shown
o A new feature to create a custom index for searching messages, and more.
* Most Online Today and Most Online Ever has been added to the Info Center.
But there were also numerous bugfixes including:
* Package manager bug was fixed.
* Deleting empty categories bug fixed
To ensure the most optimal preformance the following changes were made:
* Optimised the tables for holding \"topic read\" information
* The search engine was rewritten to better accommodate the fulltext and custom indexes
* Added cache support interface in admin panel where you can activate different accelerators.
* Made it much easier to integrate SMF with other software.
* Help files converted to template and language strings.
* Ensured SMF is MySQL STRICT compatible.
* The copyright text is now one line only.
* Added a Private Messages link to the menu.

Unfortunately, the frontend of the site (TinyPortal) isn\'t ready for this version of SMF. This means we\'ll wait for the next version of TinyPortal to be released. It is due out anytime now. When TinyPortal is released, we\'ll add the sidebars with the shoutbox and more. Hang in there.
GG.
GR.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow

Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
Yes...
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
We have a shout box! A pseudo shout box...
Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
I woke up this morning to a severly broken forum. I don\'t know what went wrong. Hang in there whilie I try to get the forum somewhat functional.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
I had some problems with my site, too, but it\'s ok now. Whatever you did, it worked.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
My database server went down a few times today. That is what caused error on your site, Mintz.
The database, however, wasn\'t the cause of the forum problems.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
Has anyone else had any problems with the internet in the past day or two? For me, some sites would work fine while others wouldn\'t, and it didn\'t matter if I had wired/wireless LAN, Firefox or IE, rebooting didn\'t help, and router power-cycling didn\'t work. I have Knology Cable. Just wondering if any of you have had similar problems, or if it\'s just me. A couple other people I talked to experienced the same thing.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
YES, I\'ve been having that problem! :o
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow

I tried doing those things as well the other day, but my internet sucked. When I was downloading stuff, the speed fluctuated tremendously.
Re: Possible Website Down Time Tomorrow
Glad it\'s not just me. It\'s either my ISP, or a couple backbone internet companies aren\'t being very cooperative.
