Local disc golf club help

For those of you that don't know, there is quite a lot of drama among the biggest local disc golf club here in Huntsville. At this time, if you are a disc golfer in Huntsville and want what's best for the sport, then your support is needed. I think there is a clear side to take although both sides have made plenty of errors.

Also, no one on this website is going to talk about the cause of the drama. There's already a flame war on another website that rivals the one's that CynEater and I have. There's no need to spread gossip or sling more mud.

That said, I'll be glad to talk to anyone on the phone or over email about the drama and tell you what I am doing. I know there are about 10 disc golfers on this website and each and everyone's support could be used - even if you've only played a few times with us.

Again, PM or leave a comment if you want to help. This can all be conducted over email and will a couple minutes of your time.

Basically, you will be throwing your support behind one group of people or another. I'll persuade you to join up with the side I am picking.

Also, most of you don't care about the local dg club. Years ago I noticed there was drama in the club and I never joined even though I played regularly with club members who got me started. The only reason I joined last year was for the bag tag and so that my money ($25) would go to something that I cared about. Bag tags would make your casual round of disc golf more competitive and help your game improve. However, there's little else that the club will directly do for you. What the club does that does benefit you indirectly is assume responsibility for doing the grunt work around the courses - mainly maintaining them. This is one reason why an organized club is important. However, this is much more administrative work taking place that you may not be aware of. This is why it is important to show support at this time.

I signed the constitution electronically. Everyone that hasn't signed has a unique opportunity. With just 60 seconds of your time you can have a significant local impact on a sport you enjoy. 60 seconds has never bought so much.

Everyone knows I love you like a brother. I just stay away from PDA.

About 3 months ago. We've already hugged it out.

I signed the support email and sent it to Lavone. I am behind him 100%. I think his primary concern is the betterment of disc golf in general, and it shows by the things he's already done, and continues to do.

A new website for the chain gang will be announced today. http://rocketcitydiscgolf.com/

Some reason my work has that site on the block list, strange. I will check out what is new since I last saw it later tonight. GG

BTW, with the extra hour should make it easier to hit up MS after work so the ranger doesn't lock us in the park!

I plan on hitting up MS after work on Monday and at least one more day. I'll be there around 3:30-4:00. I might go home and pick up my puppy so he can get some mountain action as well.

Son of a... I shot +1 at MS on Saturday with a nice day on the mountain with Kristian and the dogs. I was -1 on the last hole! (All holes were in the long,if they exist) I should have took the flick path but I went with the low baseball throw and smacked a early tree that put me in a horrible spot.

My records so far:
Short Position: +2
Long Position: +1

On another note, I've deuced #15(parked) in the short position and par in the long position (Hard uphill putt that just floated softly into the basket no chains).

I'm game for playing tomorrow after work if anyone wants to join. I'll be going to UAH to change it up from MS.

I played MS both days this weekend. It was great. I shot +16 on the day I played the full 18. However, I had accrued +11 by hole #6! I really like the course. It's challenging without being impossible and different than any other course.

I've got my bag tag. I'm #29 right now.

Nice shooting after #6, with the baskets in the long position! Monte Sano is all about course control, always shoot for the fairways not the basket unless you think you can make it. I "try" to play for the par and get the easy birdies (5 holes would fall into this category).

If you smack that first tree off the tee pad trying to get to the hole in one shot, you are in a world of pain! I've done this multiple times on the back 9 on those long narrow holes, only to end up with a +3 trying to recover my bad shot with another bad shot trying to gain back what I lost and then some.

If anyone wants to play this afternoon at any course, give me a call or reply on forum. I'll check before leaving work. I'll need to go home to let me dog out but I can meet up around 4pm. If no one is going to play, I think I'll do some yard work instead of throwing alone.

Wow. I went to go draw my bag tag today at lunch.... 49! awesome

Lavone was showing me and telling me hole by hole about Indian Creek, it sounds sweet. He said 6 weeks, give or take a few weeks.

You'll probably want to play MS with me sometime soon so you can confiscate #29 from me.

Naw... I got bag tag #5 already. It's just currently on the wrong bag.

Looks like the sub-branch is winning on google to me...

More importantly, they are winning with the City of Huntsville, of Madison, Redstone Arsenal, UAH, the PDGA, and Innova. All the other group has is a websiite.

I'm going to throw with a friend from my soccer team who has only played a few times on Wednesday, probably hitting Redstone if anyone wants to join. My awesome high #49 tag is up for grabs!
