New XBOX Experience theme details revealed by Microsoft
Microsoft has released some more information about dashboard themes after they release the major user interface overhaul to XBOX 360 owners. Have a look at the pictures:

Here's what Microsoft says:
"Themes will take over more than just the background of your Dashboard – they will be present on every channel in cool, dynamic ways."
"Every graphic on each channel will tie into your theme and change if you choose a different one. You can really see this on the Friends Channel – each of your friends' Avatars will stand next to a different graphic or environment. These graphics will match the theme you choose and will change dynamically as you navigate from channel to channel. But that’s not all; the themes will be subtly animated. "
"Also on the Friends Channel, you’ll be able to see your friends’ Avatars rally when you host a LIVE party. You can see who is online and offline by what their Avatars are doing, too. Online? Your friends will emote and be able to wave you over to jump into their party. Offline? Well, they’re snoozing, of course."
"You can still use the themes you previously purchased with the New Xbox Experience. They’ll look even better over the new UI, especially in high-definition."
Here's what I say:
Cool! You can't tell me that the first image above doesn't look better than the blade system we currently have on our consoles. Our dashboards are about to get interactive and you are going to like it.
Additionally, it has been revealed that Microsoft began working on the Avatar concept before Nintendo released the Mii system for the Wii game system. Of course, this doesn't mean that the Mii system wasn't conceived before the Microsoft's Avatar system. What matters is that the Mii system rolled out first. However, it's a little comforting to know that Microsoft didn't rip off this technology from Nintendo. In fact, I believe you will see Nintendo playing "copy cat" in the future as the Mii system will morph into an Avatar system like Microsoft is rolling out.
Interesting to see how the old 2D themes will work in the new system (see the Gears of War image above). Not a perfect solution, but it will be good enough.
Looks kind of Wii Mii-ish
Looks way better than Nintendo's system. I like how they're 1-upping the competition instead of just ripping them off.
Still a rip off of the wii! Blind we are, if creation of HD Miis we could not see! Always two there are, no more, no less: a master(Microsoft) and an apprentice(Nintendo). Powerful you have become Microsoft, the dark side I sense in you.
MS should be ashamed of themselves...
literal lol
You're right, Disavowed! How dare Microsoft stand up to their competition!
It's preposterous! Wii-diculous! ;)
It's Old Greeeeeggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Want to go to a club where people Wii on eachother?!
That sounds Wiirrific!
I hope you bought your new Wii strap-on accessory, there is never a dull moment!
This is Wiitarded. What were Wii thinking?
Disavowed, I saw you driving on Governor's yesterday heading towards I-565. You were apparently frustrated as you had raised you arms palm open in the traditional "WTF?" position. Apparently someone in front of you was acting wiidiculous.
He was increasing his conductor experience for Wiimusic, very wiilicious for 5% xp gain!! Only 43,325 xp left for level up!
Speaking of Wii's. Food just got his in yeterday. Wii are pretty stoked about.

Everybody I know that owns a Wii, with the exception of one, has played it for a week and then forgotten about it. My father-in-law and his wife are the exception. They play Wii sports about twice weekly and have become very good at tennis and bowling. Christina can no longer beat them at it. I'll be interested to see if you guys have a similar experience.
I now have a hard time remembering the days when console gaming didn't have an online social aspect. Anybody else like that? On Monday XBL was down. I fired up the 360 and felt isolated.
I play my wii a good bit right before I go to bed.. sounds soo wrong lmao
Currently finished up Metroid, then I have a lot left in Mario Galaxy to do.. Mario Kart is always fun to get a quick race in as well, easiest game to play while laying in bed.
I got my wii as a gift, but I have justified playing on it enough for the purchase and I will continue to play it more down the road.. looking forward to Mike Tyson Punch Out! woot
Looking pretty sweet:
if anyone is looking for a good game for the wii check out call of duty 3 the only bad thing is there is no multiplayer and the controls take a while to get used to or wait till call of duty 5
