The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
For the last two weeks Halo 3 has been the most played game on Xbox LIVE. For most of this year, Call of Duty 4 has been the most popular game on LIVE.
So why has Halo 3 surged to the to Major Nelson's most played list? Battlefield Bad Company is drawing war-sim gamers away from Call of Duty 4.
It would be interesting to see if the number of gamers playing Halo 3 has gone up during this time. (Surely some fan has a website tracking the number of daily Halo 3 gamers).

IGN has a story on why they think Halo 3 is back on top... none of them include BF:BC. They came up with a bunch of crap reasons. I think you are right... BF:BC has to be the reason. I surprised actually, now that I think of it, that it didn't happen sooner then. It's actually impressive that CoD4 held out as long as it did after BF:BC release... when did it come out anyway?

When I read the title, I thought it was referring to the gamer "EA", not EA Games...

You can thank a bad company for making Bad Company. Zing! I'll keep my opinion conservative because I haven't played BC, just the demo.
