Exclusive in-game content is new to the Gears of War series. Metal cases and books are not.
Incentivising pre-orders and end user purchases with exclusive in game content reshapes the marketplace. This will encourage game developers to think outside of the box and could even affect minor aspects of gameplay in the future. This happening in an exclusive and major AAA title on a console is unprecedented regardless of how minor the digital asset is.
I think it should come with a mini Brumak figurine. Midnight's Big Daddy figurine is one of the coolest incentives to buy a limited edition I've ever seen, and it'd be nice to see it with GoW2.

GoW story > Bioshock ?

Who cares about the opinion of a voice actor in regards to the story? If someone from Bioshock said this, or even a random video game magazine editor, I might take it more seriously.
They've got a lot of storyline to cover in GoW2 if they want to approach Bioshock quality fiction.
Pre-order content is what they're going for these days, mainly to get you to pay the pre-order prices ;)

that extra is not worth it imo. rather just have the regular edition than paying that extra for garbage.
Wow, that's a damn good deal for a special edition crammed with so much stuff. I'm a sucker for art books, so even though I have yet to play through two levels of the first GoW, I will probably get this. And like Kryptinite, I'm kind of a whore for "special editions."
