The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
Tomorrow at 12:00 I'll be heading to Wolfe to replace my lost driver. After that I plan to play Brahan Spring. I estimate that will be at 1:00. Anyone who cares to come is welcome. If someone knows the Mastin Lake course then I'd be open to playing it, but I don't wish to play it without a guide the first time.

I'm planning on playing UAH
I'm planning on playing UAH tomorrow around noon. Want to play UAH and then go over to Brahan for a quick round?
I can't make noon. I'm
I can't make noon. I'm actually pushing my round back a little so I can go to the gym beforehand, but I go to the UFC so I'd be close. Christina and I could be at the UAH course at 1:30, but that's the earliest.
I wish I could make it
I wish I could make it today, doesn't look like I will be able to play today or tomorrow :( I would try to get a round in Sat. morning before I have to be at this wedding but I just remembered I have to take my puppy to the vet for his last round of shots.
I might swing by the store after work today though and hopefully pick up some Soft Pro Rhyno putters to work with after advice from the pro I played with yesterday. Hopefully he still has some in stock. Maybe grab a destroyer as well.
Does anyone have any golf
Does anyone have any golf discs they're willing to sell for $3-$4 each? Where's Wolfe?
Wolfe is in the back of SAS
Wolfe is in the back of SAS Comfort Shoes near Bob Wallace and the Parkway, about 100 yards from where Hog Wild used to be and about the same distance from where Sign Time used to be. It is on the east side of the Parkway.
Think he sells the DX
Think he sells the DX plastic for $6-7 each. They fly just as well as the more $$$ plastic but they don't take a beating like the others. A couple of hard tree smacks and your disc is going to turn fast, but they will still be useful on hard save shots.
I would give you one of my old DX disc I don't really use, but its a very hard disc to throw for a beginner, and its soo beat up its not worth learning to throw it.
BTW where did you lose your driver Jeff?
I will be throwing a really quick round between ~1:00 and 2:30 on Sunday before my last soccer game at 4:00. It will most likely be at Brahan or UAH, well I think I can get on Redstone since joining RCCG, so RS is a possibility as well.
I thought the store hosting
I thought the store hosting the backroom filled with golf discs was called Foot Care Plus? Thanks for the heads up.
I'm still perfectly willing to buy some that nobody uses.
I could join you at UAH on
I could join you at UAH on Sunday, Skyler. The Ultimate (I know, I know) group meets up there at 1430, so I could play with you and then head on over there. I should hopefully have purchased a couple discs by Sunday.
Foot Care Plus is Lavone
Foot Care Plus is Lavone Wolfe's shoe store that sells disc golf discs and accessories and is located on the corner of the Parkway and Bob Wallace on the northeast side of the intersection.

Go in the store and walk straight back to a small room with the plastic. You shouldn't buy discs without the advice of someone.
If no one is there to help you, I recommend getting these discs:
* Innova Sidewinder weighing 165-169 grams in Pro or Champion (best) plastic
* Some sort of putter for midrange shots and putting (Innova Birdie, Aviar, Aero...) Get which ever feels best in your hand. DX plastic is fine for these.
* Pro Roc 170-180 gram in Pro plastic
If Lavone's in the store, ask him for help and he'll get you started.
I don't know where I got
I don't know where I got "SAS Comfort Shoes" but that's a strange thing for me to invent.
I lost my driver on the 800+ foot hole at Redstone. From near the Mando sign I tried to throw an overhand to curve right. I must have hyzered it on release, because that bitch hooked hard left into the woods and never even looked back to say goodbye.
I called Lavone yesterday
I called Lavone yesterday and dropped your name, EA. He said he knew you, and he seemed pleased with my interest in the sport. He said he was gonna be out this weekend, so I'll just pick up some discs.
He recommended basically exactly what you just posted, except with something in the mid-170s. He doesn't know exactly what my build is, though, so if you think the latter-160s is better, I'll get that. He also suggested a Wraith for something.
You should stick in the mid
You should stick in the mid 160s. The heavier the disc the more spin you will need to keep it flying long and straight.
I recommend a sidewinder as well, that was the Dark Green disc you were throwing pretty well from the last time I saw you throwing. They fly in an "S" flight pattern which adds good distance to your throws even if its a bad thrown shot. My first distance was a Crystal Clear Sidewinder, and I miss it dearly to this day. Another driver I would recommend is the Valkyrie, which was the yellow disc I let you throw at Redstone as well.
Aero Putters seem to be the newbie choice disc for putters. As EA stated, pick up all the different putters at the store and see which one feels right in your hand.
If you want to go today Matt, I'm heading over there around 2:30 to shop around. I can help you pick out what you need to get started, I can give you a call if you want to go.. pretty sure I have your number in my cell.
I know where I got "SAS
I know where I got "SAS Comfort Shoes" from...it's written in big letters on the building in question!
I hate my Aero putter. I got an Aviar today and like it much better.
I was driving past the "SAS
I was driving past the "SAS Comfort Shoes" sign on my way to Foot Care Plus and was like "lol that's probably where Jeff got it from." Then I noticed, in small letters, "Foot Care Plus" and was like "Oh, I guess he's not crazy."
Yeah the store is Foot Care
Yeah the store is Foot Care Plus, he carries SAS brand shoes I think.
