glad to hear that got cleared up man.as a matter of fact,when i purchased my Galo3 the gamestop guy warned me about the metal case cracking the disc.i'm not totaly sure how he knew that would happen,cuz i bought the game on the release date? Anyways,i was gona offer you my H3.but i guess you don't need it anymore..at least i don't have ta get a new coaster

If you're not playing it, or have an extra copy, then I would like to take you up on that. Microsoft's Game Disc Replacement has at least a two-week turnaround time, so I will not get my replacement disc back before the DLC maps come out next week.

If anyone has an extra copy they want to lend me for a few weeks (I promise not to store it in my Limited Ed. case!), let me know.

I gathered that you were being fecetious, but it made me realize that I would indeed be without my disc for a few weeks, and that many THXers had more than one copy. Not to mention, noone's been playing it lately...

I got my brand-new copy of H3 back in the mail on Saturday, the 15th. That is a <2wk turnaround. And they threw in a 1mo. XBL Gold card, which isn't much, but is better than nothing. Perhaps, to make up for the time I was unable to play the game...

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the disc replacement program from MS. Even if you have a game that wasn't deemed "defective" and would qualify you for the free replacement, they'll also replace any damaged disc you have for $20. In most cases, that beats the replacement cost of buying it new. And, a brand-new disc is better than a used one from a game store.

Huh. Suddenly depressed after reading all that.

We only bought our Halo 3(the green one) XBox in October complete with normal copy of Halo 3. It developed small cracks from the centre and became unreadable just like the 1st chap's did in this thread. We thought it odd, but we'd played it a lot so we thought it was us and just replaced it... No other games' disks have had any such problems.

By buying a Limited Edition Halo 3 that strangely at the time was going very cheap on offer in GAME - this was all just prior to the end of January. Nobody warned us, and I just noticed a crack had formed in the disk yesterday, about 1 cm.

Coincidence that it was on offer just prior to the deadline of free replacement? I bloody doubt it. Steve lost the receipt and so now I guess we're really screwed. Anybody know if I can put superglue on it to seal the crack?! I don't really want to buy a 3RD COPY. I think paying over £100 to play an Xbox game is a little rediculous.

I doubt super gluing it will fix the problem.. but as for paying for a third, don't, just buy Call Of Duty 4.
