Slayer and I tried this a couple times unsuccessfully last night. I am curious about a couple minor things:
1. Does it matter if you do it before or after the cutscene in which Truth dies?
2. Does it matter if you jump through the ring from one side or the other? Do you have to jump from the same side the entire time?
3. If the rings are no longer making the tones does that mean you've messed up and need to restart? If so, can you simply restart at ring 4 or must you reload the last save?

Found a youtube video in case you don't want to have to fast forward through the 40 minute campaign saved film.

Everyone that's getting the skull is doing it after you kill Truth. According to the save film, it doesn't matter which way you face when you jump, proven last night with a friend. If they stop doing the tone, just finish out the sequence and start over. You might get lucky :).

I did the order and got the skull, does it matter who picks it up? It didn't say i got an acheivment and when i left game i didnt have helm. plz help me >.<

Uhhh... ok we've tried the sequence and it doesn't work. There are 'no' tones at all when jumping thru the rings. And when ever we finish the sequence there's no glow and no skull.

And wtf? Double ones on this page's list but not on the video example? The one on the video example has no double numbers.

Does it matter which difficulty we're on?

i did this last night everything worked and i picked up the skull, saved and quit to go look at my new armor and it said i did not have it, do i have to finish out the level?

Many of you are confused when it comes to obtaining this skull. In order to get the helmet for the Hayabusa armor, you MUST collect all 13 skulls in the game. n00b, for one, there are 2 different skull types in the game. Silver and Gold. The Gold skulls are the ones that give you achievements, whereas the Silver do not. It doesn't matter who picks up the skull, as long as you're in the party, you'll still obtain it. So there's nothing to worry about. :)

the IWHBYD skull can be obtained by jumping through the rings in this order 4654534 (the 1st being the ring at the entrance, 7th ring being next to the prophet) this does work, as I recently used it.

The double 1 is a typo, if you watch the video and look at the number sequence (I watched it a few times), he does the sequence the same as what is listed, he just does 1 once instead of twice.

can someone answer my ? im havening to main problems. 1 the grunt bday skull isnt working for me. ive tried it on the last three difficulty's and its still not showing up. any advice. 2 is im having some difficulties getting the iwhbyd skull. ive done the sequence plenty of times and im just not seeing the skull. when im doing the sequence im not hearing the sounds either. any advice.

Wait until after you have killed the Truth, then kill all of the flood. Then begin the ring sequence of 4 6 5 4 5 3 4. The skull will drop at the beginning of the light bridge headed to the Truth.

actually i have already got this skull and this portion is the only part of the sequence you have to do to get the skull

Follow the directions and try starting over. It works. Do it exactly like the instructions state.

All right, I've read the comments and people are still having problems. The best way to describe how to jump through the rings is as follows: Jump onto the ramp and walk until you're on the flat surface, from there, jump through the rings, or just to be safe, crouch jump. ALSO! Remember this guys, in order to get a skull, you must begin the level from the BEGINNING and FINISH it completely. That's the way to completely get the skulls and what not. If you all require more help, don't hesitate to e-mail me, it's on my first post so you should find it.

Don't Start at a rally point. Start at the beginning of the level.

The hoops you have to jump through ARE 4 6 5 4 5 3 4 like it says here.

You can jump any way you want through the hoops.

Kill all enemies.

Be careful not to jump through hoops while killing covenant/flood.

Yes it does, with Silver Skulls, you must hold it to get it, and Silver Skulls like the IWHBYD Skull do not unlock achievements, only Gold ones do.

first of all the armor is as follows: shoulders for five or maybe six total skulls, body for 9, and helmet for collecting every one of the 13 skulls, not just the last one. also, only one person can jump and must jump every one of the seven. If you do the short form of the code, you must carry the skull to the end of the level.

the first time it didn't work. then i tried again and got the skull, the first time i hit one of the bases of the rings and then jumped threw. i think this f>>< me up and it didn't the work. the second time it worked and i got the skull, picked it up, walked half way back and saved and quit. it did not register in my campain options as me having the skull. since i just played it. i continued and did it again. then i carried the skull back to the arbiter while jumping threw a few rings on the way back. then i jumped into the whole and finished the level. at the next level i saved and quit. and it registered that time. didn't know if anyone else had this problem. but just thought i would let you know. and 1346754654534 works fine. just remember to jump cleanly threw the hoops and by the way, there is no tone. rings do light up when completed

ahhhh... i don't know what happened i had the skull in my hand then i saved and quit then when i went to put on my helm it said it was locked then i went to my skulls and it said i didn't have it!!!

uhhh...yeah i tried this about 3 times once before the clip b4 illing truth and twice after no notes but it did light up i went to the end it and skull wernt there P.S just to be sure where dus the skull actually spawn???

i have all skulls. here are the iwhbyd skull requirements:
*normal and up
*must kill truth, flood, and cov. 1st
*must have all 13 skulls to get helm.
*4654534 is all thats needed, but you must hold skull until end of the level
*must start from mission start and play the whole thing through.
rings will produce notes (very hard to here) and light up once skull appears.
*go to campaign and press x to check what skulls that you have.

I did the whole ring jumping thing.I did i right and got the skull and everything, when i backed out i didn't have it. do you have to finish the level out or what?

do u get the helmet as soon as u pick up the skull or do u need to finish the level with u still holding the skull.

Actually th IWHBYD skull unlocks a bunch of secret dialogue just watch the first scene on campaign, and there is still more than that dialogue.

Also you have to collect all the skulls in order to get the Hayabusa helmet!!!!!!!!

Yeah I had all the skulls but this one. I jumped the hoops went to bridge saw skull picked it up saved and quit and checked my armor and skulls and it didnt update...

Not sure why it didnt update? You never had to complete the rest of the mission in order for the other silver skulls to update. Just this one you have to?? Do you have to go back and jump down that glowing blue hole by the elevator for it to save?

Any help would be appreciated took a long time to get there for nothing..

It took me 3 attempts the only thing i think i did different the last time was not entirely wiping out the flood there was still a couple little ones when i started ring jumping, i also jump crouched to make sure i went right through. Who knows?!?!? It worked and saved now though so yay.

Was wondering if you can have any other skull activated while trying this or if they need to be off.

If you haven't found IWHBYD yet, wait till after Truth has been killed. The 7th ring is closest to Truth and for reference, #4 shows signs of damage. You will know you have succeded when all the rings flash together. Then head back toward where Truth was, and the skull will have appeared
right in the middle on the path. Happy hunting.

Thank you, you did save alot of trouble. All the other cheat pages are showing only a portion. Your sequence is the only one that works.

When I first played the level, before I knew about the skulls, i jumped through the hoops & had the tones. i beat the game & then i accidently got the last skull before i got the iwhbyd skull. now i get no tones! does the order matter? does beating the game matter? I have started from the very begging of the game on all difficulties and still no tones, nor skulls. Is it 4ever lost?

To get the hayabusa armor you need to get 6 of the skulls; for the shoulders you need to get 9 of the skulls; finally, for the head, you need to get all 13 skulls. Just look it up online and they will have all the locations on video.

I got the game for Christmas and have gotten all of the other skulls in the past few days. I cant get the iwhbyd skull though. I tried at least 5 times last night after killing truth and watching the cutscenes and all. I read that you have to kill ALL of the flood. Is this true? There are a few of the little ones that jump off the side (chasing the sentinels) and get stuck on the floor close to the entrance and are UNKILLABLE (grenades,bruteshot,nothing kills them-glitch i guess). Can i complete the 1346754654534 or the 4654534 sequence still...does it matter which one i do b/c i read that the long sequence is more reliable. I hear no tones and the flood freaky music doesnt stop playing (probably b/c of the glitching little ones that still show up on radar)......

i hope this makes sense and that someone can help me-any help is appreciated!

Umm for one thing...The order is "5 4 6 5 4 5 3 4" I did it last night and got the skull... I did the code "4 6 5 4 5 3 4" and it did NOT work...At all...So...Try "5 4 6 5 4 5 3 4" and you should get it...I promise. Oohh and start the level from the begining and kill the profit of truth, then kill the rest of the flood thats around the rings and then do the code, and the skull will be by the bridge where you killed the profit of truth...Pick up the skull and finish the level, there is no more flood or covenant that you'll have to fight...Just finish the level, because you're already at the end, trust me. If you just 'Save and Quit" or "End Game" then you will NOT get it.

To get the hayabusa helmet you have to have ALL THE OTHER SKULLS and you have to do the sequence:::
4 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 5 - 3 - 4

go to where you killed Truth grab the skull and run all the way back to where the orbitar is jump in the vent and that is it!

it doesnt matter how you jump in it. and yes u have to do it after u kill the truth dude. But make sure that everything is died even like flood that arnt moving but the body is still in contact just hit B a couple of times then jump in then try doin it. it should work. but i have no idea about the restart or anything so i would jump threw them in the begining lol i hope it works for you

In order to get the helmet from the skull -- you need to do like all skulls and pick up and drop it. If you save and quit with it still in your hands it will not unlock the skull... Took me 4 times to figure it out.

yo i unlocked all the skulls and i got the last one. i fibished the level with the silver skull and it didnt give me the head armor wdf. i did everything correct too.

I need help. I have all 13 skulls. My brother and I were playing and we both got them together. He checked his and now he has all the hayabusa armor except the sword. I checked mine and the helmet didn't show up. When I checked to see if all the skulls were there I see every skull. I checked the bungie site and still I saw all the skulls there. Can someone help me.

I found the solution. Make sure your the only account signed in to xbox live when you enter Halo. Then check your skulls. You'll see which ones your missing. My brother was signed in the same time I was and It showed all the skulls because he got them all. It didn't show my skulls though. Once I signed in by myself I saw that I was missing 2 skulls. After I got those I was able to get the hayabusa helmet.

Dood you have to have all of the skulls to get the head armor not just the IWHBYD skull

yes it matters what difficulty you do it on, you have to do it on normal or above. your best chance of getting it is by using the order in which there is a bunch of numbers. The rings will not make any tones. you'll know for sure if you've completed the ring jump when all the rings start lighting up. make sure you kill the prophet and all the flood so you are not interrupted during the ring jump. ALL SKULLS MUST BE LOCATED ON NORMAL OR ABOVE. my gamertag is xR10TMAKERx ( the 0 in my tag is zero not the letter o)

I got all the achievements and theyre really easy actually just google vid the skull you need and it will tell you this one you want you have to jump through rings in a certain order and once you get all skulls you get hayabusa but to be honest HAYABUSA ARMOR SUCKS the best one is really the SECURITY with the KATANA now thats cool everybody has hayabusa

I jumped through the rings in that exact order and i did not hear any notes and the skull never showed up. I even tryed a diferent combination that i got from another website. so why dont it show up???

first of all you can't start from a rally point, you have to play on anything but easy, don't jump through anything until you activate bridge, and to have it put in your invetory you have to finish off the level you can't end game or it will not count and you will have to do it again.

so let me get this straight the short version you have to have the skull until the end of the level and the long version you can pick up the skull then drop it. i have all the skulls except this one. also how to i get the samurai sword? i heard that you have to do 49 achievements and i have also heard that you have to do all the achievements? my gamertag is McFreek if you wanna help or play.

1. i did it after the cutscene, and the skull only appeared to spawn when ALL ENEMIES ON BRIDGE WERE DEAD, i had to reload from checkpoint once cos some litle flood fell off the bridge and out of the level but still triggered my radar, which apparently counted as alive enemies, so no skull :S

2. i jumped from either side, whichever way i was heading, and even if u mess up the sequence u can just start again from 4 and it will work, even if u do combination of 1256146123685412683 etc, as long as the correct combination is in there somewhere it should work...i think :P

3. tbh i couldnt tell they were making a noise as i jumped through, all i noticed was slightly different humming noise as i neared each ring, wether i went through it or not.

I did the sequence. You know how the skull is supposed to appear where the "Hold RB To activate bridge" console is? Well, I did the sequence, the console was gone, but the skull wasn't there, and I was on Heroic. I am tired of constantly doing this over and over again. Also, if you have a checkpoint saved, do you have to restart mission, or can you play from the checkpoint (not a Rally Point from finishing mission)?

Someone said this before... apparantly you need all 13 skulls and 500 total Halo3 Gamescore to get the helmet

After you picked it up, you probably saved and quit to check if you unlocked it, right? Well, you've gotta finish out the level before it'll show up.

Seriously? Dude I did the order ONCE. I have the skull, the helmet, and a smile on my face, the order is 4-6-5-4-5-3-4. VERY EASY, and the music it gives off is actually pretty soft. It's also very obvious if you get it, seeing as all of the big blazing rings start shining.

I'm having problems.

Me (on guest) and my friend on his main were trying to snag Hayabusa helmet. We went through, and I grabbed all the gold skulls myself, on guest. He got the achievements. Proving that a guest can grab them, and it will still work. He also got all the Hayabusa armor besides helmet. We went through and grabbed all the silver skulls. They were irritating, but whatever.

When we went back, no helmet.

Hmmmm.

We decided to play it safe, went back, and had him grab all the silver skulls on his account, instead of me on guest grabbing them.

No luck.

So now we're irritated.

Every website just says "Grab all 13 skulls roflroflrofl"

Which is untrue... "just grabbing" them obviously doesn't work... You're lieing if you think otherwise.

Now, my question is, besides grabbing, do you have to maybe complete the level for silvers?

That might be my problem.

Someone told me you need 500 gamerpoints for the helmet, but I have 950 from halo... so that's wrong too.

Hey for everyone having issues and not hearing any tones. I got itafter many failed attempts...this is how. I started from the beginning on normal. I went thru the cut scene and I killed all the flood. I then used the 4 6 5 4 5 3 4 code (#1 in the entrance and #7 next to Truth). When I finally got it to work I made sure that I turned around and approached the ring from the direction I was going to be going; for example #4 I went toward Truth then #6 I faced the entrance opposite from truth and went thru the ring that way. Finally I crouch jumped every time for a little extra insurance. And viola! Good Luck!
