Halo 3 Epsilon Leaked!

The following article contains pictures, albeit fuzzy pictures, of gameplay from Halo 3 Epsilon. This includes multiplayer in-game shots, menu shots, and shots from one level of the campaign. Yesterday we received a tip that a way had been devised to download Halo 3 Epsilon on Xbox Live. Figuring something fishy was afoot, I still investigated because…well…we’re talking about Halo 3 here. I was informed that the story goes as such: A Microsoft employee got her son into Halo 3 Epsilon. Other gamers saw him playing it online and proceeded to pull a pretty dastardly trick. They pretended to have access to a beta of Project Gotham Racing 4 and promised the lad a redemption code to download it in return for his XBL login information so that they could download Halo 3 Epsilon. He agreed, giving them his account recovery information. They gave him a fake redemption code in return. They then recovered his account on each of their Xbox 360s and downloaded Halo 3 Epsilon. The total number of people that downloaded Halo 3 Epsilon is 8. It appears the joy lasted for about a day before Microsoft got wise and removed the ability of the illegitimate players to launch Halo 3 Epsilon or download it again. They were not banned from XBL, but the demo would no longer launch and it was removed from the download history of the compromised gamertag. In the short time they had it they shrewdly took some screen shots, and that is where the below pictures originated. As someone mentioned in another thread here on THX, Halo 3 is just too big to be contained. Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. The source merely asked that BFG be given credit for the screenshots, and that I list his email address: cptbansheekiller@gmail.com.

It's a shotgun/pistol hybrid.
Campaign Lobby: 1 Player (16 Max) ?? Am I reading this wrong?
Perhaps it splits up the group.
It might be like Halo 2, where you can have 16 people in the lobby, but only launch the campaign mode if you have four or less people.
Come to think of it, your right. It will flash at you if you have too many players.
I guess first things first...Rate of fire and damage with the pistol?

How even are the BR and Carbine?
Does the Gravity Hammer feel unbalanced?
Lastly, firebombs, cool as they sound?

Why do they call it Epsilon? Seriously.
Pistol still has it's slow rate of fire.
BR is the same. Carbine fires slower than in the 1st beta.
Actually, I'm suprised on how balanced it is. It's a 2 hit kill. But the first whack will send the enemy flying, but out of your reach. Giving them a chance to start pumping you full of lead or run away.
Firebombs are cool. They do what you would imagine. Little pocket of fire on the ground. They also have a blinding effect and are amazing for defending flags. You can just coat the wall or ground as an enemy is walking in. A direct hit with a firebomb is 100% fatal.
Because it is more complete than a "beta" version but not totally complete. Epsilon is a Greek letter that comes well after beta. Instead of "Halo 3 Beta" it's "Halo 3 Epsilon."

Awesome, thanks dude. Damn I was hoping they would change the rate of fire on it, it would have been the only thing to salvage it. The other stuff sounds really gnarly I can't wait to mess around with the hammer.

I'll be surprised if HALO 3 doesn't make its way online to in the form of a .torrent before its release in a few weeks.
I'm not so sure I want to play the campaign all the way through in French, though. O_o

Update: The eight people who got in on it have all had their 360s banned from Xbox Live. Looks like Microsoft did not take this well.
If you look at the end of the video, it appears his account was banned.
I hope that lady got fired.
Yeah, he did. It's SnprSlick. He was banned from the Shadowrun beta for posting gameplay videos to GameVideos and YouTube when we were all still on NDA lockdown.
He had to be one of these eight people, because there's no way this fool could have legitimately gotten access to Epsilon considering what he did during the Shadowrun beta.
Update 2: Microsoft requested that Flickr remove the photos and they did. If it means that much to MS then I'm not going to tempt fate and re-host them anywhere else.
Im interested in the new ARG, can someon etall me whats the dela with it, because thej most recent post in that section is from June. I would like to knwo how i can get nvolved and maybe help out.
Hmm.. I haven't been keeping up with the ARG, that may be a question for rap. I can tell you that the site is right smack in the middle of some huge changes right now and the front page links to the ARG are no longer there. I suggest the google search bar on the right at the moment.
