The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.

As the LAN approaches I thought I'd post some house rules so everyone is on the same page with what I expect. I'm not the type to flip out about any of the below concerns, but knowing the below info makes things easier on everyone.
1. No dipping or smoking inside the house. No spit bottles, cans, cups, nothing. Both are permissible on the back porch where you can spit in the yard.
2. No drinks on the ground. Keep your drinks on a table or some other elevated surface.
3. If you spill something, grab a towel (which will be available) and clean it up immediately (not after the round is over).
4. My dog and cat are both friendly. The dog will probably be apprehensive of all the things you're carrying in your hands on your way in, but after you put it all down just kneel, let her sniff you, and you'll be best buds. She'll probably decide to stay in the back yard during most of the LAN. Do not feed her anything unless I give you a doggie treat to feed her. My cat is deaf. No amount of yelling at her will get her attention. Do not feed her either.
5. There is a beverage refrigerator in the garage for your use. Alcohol is permitted. Do not get drunk.
6. Parking is a big concern. Park along the road that goes directly towards my house and ends at a stop sign with my house at 1 o'clock. If you really want to take one for the team drop off your items in front of my house and then take that same road further back to where new homes are being built around the curve. Don't block anybody's driveway. Leave the left lane of my driveway open for my wife and I to come and go if we need to.
7. There is a Wal-Mart 4 minutes from my house. I suggest grabbing last minute supplies there before you arrive. However, there are no "close" electronic stores that will have audio adapters for your speakers, and Wal-Mart probably won't either.
That's all for now, but I may add more later. I hope everyone understands I'm not being a prick, but there are some things we all have to know to get along in my house for 12 hours or more.
The fifth annual THX Birthday LAN is scheduled for October 6, 2007, in Huntsville, Alabama. This will be THX's innaugural Halo 3 LAN to commemorate our 5th birthday on August 28th. This gives you almost two full work weeks plus one weekend after the release of Halo 3 to develop your skills before the LAN. Halo 3 will be the only game played at the LAN. No Halo 1, Halo2, Guitar Hero I/II, XBL Arcade games, Dead or Alive, Tekken Tag, Viva Pinata, or any other software besides Halo 3 will be allowed. Playing other games at LANs makes game coordination more difficult, causes others to wait on you, and therefore it will not be allowed.
Location will be my place. PM me if you need directions.

A Halo 3/ Xbox 360 LAN brings about many different planning factors than our traditional Halo 1 LANs. First, HD displays are preferred. I can provide 2 HDTVs, a 67" DLP and a 30" CRT. Next, because Halo 3 does not have the 4 Xbox maximum per game, ala Halo 1, individual LCD monitors with Xbox 360 VGA cables are encouraged. We no longer have to bring gargantuan TVs. If many people bring their personal 360, a copy of Halo 3, and a personal 19-24" monitor then everyone can have an excellent gaming experience. I can provide one 22" monitor, but my VGA cable is in use on my 67" TV. If you have a monitor and need VGA cables then they are available on Ebay for under $10 or locally for $40.
Next, the LAN architecture at my house will be a little different than normal, and hopefully better. I have in-wall ethernet drops to five rooms of the house. I plan to employ a certain person's 16-port switch in my telco closet to link all the rooms together. The only further thing needed besides some relatively short (15') ethernet cables will be hubs/4-port switches to expand the wall outlets to handle more than one Xbox 360. For instance, in my bedroom I have one wall ethernet outlet that will be networked on the main switch. If we connect a hub to it then we can connect multiple 360s to the hub and have up to four boxes networked on the one wall outlet. This has a neat side effect: achievements. Theoretically, we will all have internet and XBL access, and be able to earn online achievements during the LAN.
Setup will go on the evening of Friday October 5th. I would like to get the main network architecture along with at least half the equipment in place and test the network and XBL connectivity. This will also allow for TV remotes to be forgotten on Friday night so a trip to Wal-Mart will not be necessary on Saturday. Thankfully, I do have a universal remote, but it is about 5 years old so I may not have codes for newly popular manufacturers like Westinghouse. Those participating in setup will also be able to recover their accounts for use online the next day.
LAN participants may begin arriving at 10 AM on Saturday. Late is fine; arrive whenever you can. LAN will end when nobody remains at my house/awake/conscious.
I suggest eating an early lunch/ late breakfast before you arrive. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages to fuel the fire. Pizza will be on call when we reach a critical mass of gamers that need a meal.
A few closing notes:
Please check your calendar and commit to or deny attendance early. This greatly aids planning.
Be unselfish with your equipment. Bringing your personal Xbox 360, Halo 3 software, small monitor, and ethernet cable is a very light burden and will enhance the LAN experience for everyone for 12 hours or more.
Bring your TV's remote or know how to change its input without it.
Invite your friends. Use the mass market appeal of Halo 3 to build the THX network.
Don't leave things at my house. Any property left on Saturday will be available for pickup on Sunday. After Sunday it will become victim to my 100+ feedback Ebay account.
Let's make this the best LAN yet. THX Birthday LANs and Holiday LANs have become stellar events. Let's continue that fine tradition and set a new standard. As one of the few well-known voices in the Halo community that regularly LANs we have the opportunity to make this one of the first, biggest, and best-covered Halo 3 LANs.
Post your discussion, questions, and equipment below. After you have confirmed attendance and what equipment you will bring I will edit the second post of this thread titled "Attendance and Equipment Roster." Use this post as gospel for what you should bring. Don't worry, I won't put anything on there you didn't volunteer.

Scheduling
Friday, October 5th?
Computer monitors are win!
Updated my equipment.
Computer monitors are win! With VGA cables and HDMI to DVI cables so cheap and with CRT and LCD's so cheap, they make perfect LAN equipment. Female to Female VGA adapter for the old school win.
1 XBOX 360 Elite
2 controllers (maybe more)
2 22" LCD (with VGA/DVI/HDMI connections and with speakers and audio out)
1 XBOX 360 VGA cable
1 HDMI to DVI cable
1 19" CRT (someone needs to provide video cables)
1 20" CRT (someone needs to provide video cables)
Halo 3 software
16-port switch
2 25' CAT5
I recommend everyone buy VGA cables on ebay. But I also recommend everyone figure out their audio situation if they do that. A cheap set of headphones may work. Probably would be best so that you don't hear everyone else.
Radioshack
The day of our JuLAN, I stopped into Radioshack to hook myself up with some audio for my Xbox setup. I bought some nice computer speakers on sale for $20. They seem to work really well. I recommend checking out Radioshack, although they can be expensive if you are not careful.
THX Birthday LAN Items
Oculus-
Most likely items:
-1 42" 720p LCD TV (with remote)
-1 360 Premium (sans HDMI)

-2 Wired Mics
-Lots of Mt. Dew
-McDonalds Double Cheeseburgers (or equivalent snack food)
-1 Pressurized Water Reactor to be plugged into the Southeast Huntsville power grid to compensate for the massive drain and fluctuations the THX Birthday LANs cause.
Possible additional items I want, but don't have. If purchased I'd definitely bring them:
-Xbox 360 Premium/Elite (with HDMI)
-1 HDMI Cable
-1 Wireless Controller (w/battery pack)
-1 Wired Mic
-Additional copy of Halo 3
-(Dell 24" monitor would come as well)

Thanks for the quick
Thanks for the quick response, guys. I have updated the attendance and equipment roster. Please check your individual roster. I might have made minor changes. For instance, I reduced Slayer's camp chair count to 2. There's no reason for anyone to bring more than two camp chairs. I also removed the question marks on JDogg's switch, because it is definitely needed. I will never roger you up for more equipment than you volunteer, but I may reduce the number of things needed or confirm that a tentative item is needed. I also added some question marks that I need answered, mainly on VGA cables.
Right now 360s and VGA cables are the critical items. For once we have many excellent displays available. Have also added the following info to the main post:
After you have confirmed attendance and what equipment you will bring I will edit the second post of this thread titled "Attendance and Equipment Roster." Use this post as gospel for what you should bring. Don't worry, I won't put anything on there you didn't volunteer.

I will be there. I can bring snacks, drinks, etc.
Of the 2 controllers I have
Of the 2 controllers I have down, one is wired and the other wireless.
Also, the 4 port switch I have on my list is a router...I have used it in the past as a switch but believe I have heard rumblings of using routers in the place of a switch can increase the lag? Not sure about that, but thought I would clarify just in case.
This is the early confirmed
This is the early confirmed attendance of Mintz.
When it comes to Xbox360+Monitor setups, do you have enough room for tons of people to set up their own personal station? Do you have enough power strips for multiple monitor+360 setups?
Equipment:
- Xbox360
- 20" Monitor sans cables (for now, might buy some later)
- Mt. Dew
- 3 controllers (2 wireless, 1 not)
Hopefully.....
Hopefully I will be able to make it, but will have to see what my work schedule is for that week.
Equipment:
- X360
- H3
- 2 wireless controllers
- personal monitor (if needed)
- all the Cat5 cables you will ever need.
- Extension cords, power strips, etc
Are you talking about just standard VGA cables, like for computer monitors? I can get a bunch of 6', and can make longer if needed.
I might be able to score a nice projector and a sound system (mixer, amp, speakers, etc). I'll have to ask around.
No projector or sound system
No projector or sound system needed, but thanks for offering. The VGA cables in question are Xbox 360 VGA cables.

Updated my post.
BTW: My Elite came with a Female VGA to Female VGA adapter. So, I can plug the XBOX 360 VGA cable (male) into it and then plug the adapter into older CRT monitors. A lot of people have extra CRT monitors sitting around.
And yes, VGA cables are about $10 on eBay.

LOL, I'm the guy on the left in that picture... I can't believe you guys still have it. That was like four years ago I think.
Anyway, I'm going to try and come. We'll see what I have going on that weekend.
1 x Xbox 360 Premium.
2 x Controllers (1 wired and 1 wireless)
1 x copy of Halo 3
2 x folding camp chairs
1 x power strip
1 x extension cord
can I come this time?
I dont have any relevant hardware (save my CRT computer monitor) but I might have enough money to get a controller once this event rolls around (just started nights at cinram.) If there were a place for me, I'd be more than happy to bring drinks, snacks, or whatever else I can provide to cover for my lack of gear.
Lemme know!
PS:xfire crashes WOW, screw that!

hmm... interesting
I edited my original comment, and it changed the date. I originally posted it on the 17th, but now it says the 21st. I wasn't aware it did that.
Oh well...
On a different subject, I may be leaning towards the Xbox 360 Halo 3 Edition. It only has the 20GB hard drive, but my disdain for the white console (white electronics are fugly), along with the necessity of HDMI, and the $399 price tag (vs. $449 for the elite) has made it the front-runner for me. I think it looks pretty freakin' sweet! I know the premiums will soon ship w/ HDMI, but those will be few and far between for awhile. I'd imagine Micro$oft wants to get rid of their inventory of non-HDMI consoles first. The elite isn't out of question, but I don't think I would really need 120GB of space. We'll see...
@ Midnight: Are you going
@ Midnight: Are you going to keep your VGA cable on the 67" at the LAN? If you put component cables on there that would free up another monitor for the LAN.
I'm thinking we need a detailed count of VGA cables that will be at the LAN.
That’s the plan (67” w/
That's the plan (67" w/ component, 22" with VGA). That's why I listed my 22" as "with cables."
edited to add: Totally agree with the detailed count of monitors vs VGA cables. Will tally when we are about 3 weeks out.
Will attend
As time goes by, I'll figure out if I work or not. That would be the only conflicting thing, otherwise: I'm in. let me know whats lacking that is within my means, please.
BTW: BattleBitch,
BTW: BattleBitch, Apocolips, and other SOs will be spending the night across the road at our house that night. This might encourage SOs to attend one or both events. It might also make it a little bit easier for you to slip out of the house for a while.
It will probably still be hot in October. So, knitting sweaters will probably not happen this time around. I guess they'll just watch Sleepless in Seattle a dozen times while we LAN.
Just so you know, SOs are encouraged to attend. I hope the come.
I was thinking about
I was thinking about inviting my sister to this thing. If there are a large number of SOs attending, I am sure she would be interested in coming.
...and she loves Sleepless in Seattle, so that would work out well. :)
Consider me confirmed with 1
Consider me confirmed with 1 360, 1 13" HDTV, 2 controllers, various CAT 5e lengths, and hopefully a copy of that Halo 3 thing. I think I'll have to have Mintoz pick me up again, but we can hit up BK again and get some bamazing hamlettes.
DJ
So.........
Does this mean if I got an SO by then he would have to hang out across the street and watch chick flicks?
Consider me confirmed.
The only portable video output device I have is an old school 17" LCD monitor. I can bring my 360 if we need more.

Sarcasm isn’t very nice,
Sarcasm isn't very nice, Midnight. The only thing that would keep me from coming is if I get deployed in September or if I have a reserve meeting that weekend. My buddy Jon (the other guy in the picture) wants to come, so we'll be there if possible. I'll let you know sometime in September.
I remember that night though, because myself, SWATpup, and KuSh ordered a pizza and D1ESEL ate it when we weren't looking.

Mintz, does that 32" LCD HDTV have a hot date that night, or are you holding out on us?
I assumed everyone bringing
I assumed everyone bringing a 360 premium brings one wired headset for themselves, unless they stated more. Please let me know if you cannot bring one.
Well, I suppose I COULD
Well, I suppose I COULD bring it, but I was under the assumption that a personal Monitor/360 setup was preferable.
Uh. We need all the
Uh. We need all the monitors we can get. If you've got a portable monitor (especially one with multiple kinds of video inputs)...bring it. Someone will put it to use.
It would be a shame to have less than 16 TVs there.
Actually, it would be a shame if we had less than 16 HDTVs there.
We only have these LANs a few times a year. If people would bone up and bring more equipment, it would make the event more special.
It might even encourage others to start hosting LANs.
Then I guess I’ll bring
Then I guess I'll bring it.
To clarify, personal
To clarify, personal monitors are not preferable to larger screen HDTVs. We are encouraging everyone to bring monitors because many people have them and will be willing to transport them. If someone has a 32" CRT HDTV they want to bring, then bring it on.
I hope to make it, assuming
I hope to make it, assuming that I'm not in Vegas. All I have to offer right now is a 20" LCD Monitor, but I will gladly bring it. I am also down for bringing snacks!
I do need directions though.
I’ve got everything needed
I've got everything needed for my set up. Basically a self contained one, maybe two player station. I learned to play Halo 1 4 player split screen on a 10" LCD, so I figure 2 player split would be ok on my little screen. I think I said 2 controllers, if not, I'll bring 2 controllers. I'll drag out a power strip or two also. I can bring a headset as well, but it'll be used only if there's one player on the screen.
DJ
p.s. feel free to hit me up on aim/msn with any other questions, as I often forget to check THX :(.
edit: wtf, i clicked the reply button under midnights post and it added this to the general replies...

Important #1: be able to
Important #1: be able to manage the power for your XBOX 360 controllers. I'm thinking that they'll lose their charge after a full day of gaming. I can't be certain. I am certain that it would suck to not be able to play because you are out of juice. Bring USB chargers or AA batteries so that you've got power for your controllers. Charge them up before coming to the LAN.
Important #2: Consider buying a Memory Unit for eBay for $10. Put your XBOX Live profile on your MU. That way, you can move from XBOX to XBOX without having to wait for your profile to download.
ill be there
Ill be there.I hope that halo3 will be better than halo2 cause im my opinion in games or movies if theres 3 the first one will be the best the second one will be ok and the third one will be in between(except the bourne movies there all awesome)!
I am curious
I am curious. Since we are definitely going to have a large number of 360s, has anybody any experience in how the 360 handles a multitude of people turning their controllers on and off and which 360 it will sync to?
That’s what the little
That's what the little white "synchronize" button on top of your controller and next to the 360's memory ports are for.
curiosity
I was wondering the same thing. I know they use an RF frequency of about 2.4GHz. From what I understand, they are all of a slightly different frequency to avoid interference. i.e. 2.43, 2.39, etc....
But with that many cntrlrs in a close proximity, I'm wondering if it doesn't cause some interference. Maybe the 360 has a hand-shake method (what Mintz referred to) w/ RF devices that prevents them from interfering w/ another in the vicinity, even if they are on the same frequency.
I guess we'll find out!
I know MLG doesn’t allow
I know MLG doesn't allow gamers to play with wireless controllers. Maybe it is an interference issue.
The controllers use
The controllers use frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) multiplexing. They don't get individual sub-freqs assigned, they freq-hop between a set of defined freqs in a defined pattern. I don't know how fast the controllers freq-hop, but I bet it's on the order of 50 Hz. This type of multiplexing is very resistant to interference, jamming, and monitoring. It is the same technology used by military SINCGARS radios.
I can actually bring two
I can actually bring two headsets, regular X360 one, and my H2 one I use normally. I do believe I have two play and charge kits as well, so add those on. Also, it's dirtyJ, not Dirty J, semantics yes, but it's the little things :).
DJ
BTW...
I can bring a 4 port router, 3 ~12' Cat5 cables, and a surge protector.
Heck yea
Heck yea, that's the type of answer I'm looking for. (Yours too mintz) So each of our controllers are essentially set up already to broadcast the pattern unique to our 360. If this is the case, we won't have to re-sync when we get to the lan. Assuming the pattern is stored in memory that does not depend on a constant stream of power like RAM).

If the frequency hop is fast enough, then no-ones sequences will match up for a long enough period in time to matter. Very cool.

Well I have everything for me if we need extras.
Besides a controller is anything else needed?
Havn't been to a lan in some time now and don't know if old schoolers still play quad or pairs per monitor, or is solo the way we roll now?
this is the way we roll
Solo will be the way we roll in future, somewhat smaller LANs. Deemed by Rapture as BYOS (bring your own sh*t), they will be rather straight-forward.
As for the B-day LAN, it will be of the more traditional nature. Bring what you can, but there will be plenty of split-screening to be had by those that can't provide much more than a controller.
The more equipment, the better, though. So if you're going to get a copy of H3, then bring it along w/ your 360 and some sort of display.
I would suggest bringing
I would suggest bringing your own personal setup of a 360, H3, monitor, VGA cables, chair, controller, and ethernet cable. You've only got to transport it 500 yards, so you might as well have a personal setup to solo on.
Methinks I may use my 22" LCD as my personal monitor and let people without equipment splitscreen on the 67".
Just to be clear, BYOS will
Just to be clear, BYOS will happen more often now. I don't foresee a drop off in the number of traditional THX LAN's.

Okay I'll solo then for sure.
I'm guessing headphone boom mic is important if we are in different rooms playing teams.
Oh yea, and what about tables to put our monitors on?Do you have enough?
I’ve got several table-ish
I've got several table-ish things. Not all are eye level, but would be fine for a tilting monitor. I also have several standard tables and desks in my house plus two card tables in the garage.
End state: I think we're good on tables. If we're not it'll become known Friday night in time to notify key personnel who can help.
Headphones with a boom mic
Headphones with a boom mic would be the best audio setup. No noise pollution. You could get power-ups without people hearing you get them. You'd get a stereo experience. Etc.
But, there are only a few headsets that have mics (and they aren't cheap). Still, cheap headphones + wrapping the XBL headset around your neck would work best.
Those headphones are $100 and do 5.1 surround with a boom mic. I am leaning toward getting a pair. I think they'd be the ultimate LAN headphones. You'd run optical audio from your 360 to the converter to your headphones and plug the mic cable into your control. Boom. 5.1 surround with mic. No need to bring your own speakers.
Still, one of the best parts of the LAN is yelling across the room and hearing the smack talk from someone else. Headphones might mask that (for good and bad).
I may run a "neck mic" setup. I'll at least be able to plug the headphones into a jack on my portable speakers.
Tables. I've got a 3'x8' table and a 3'x5' table that I could bring if we need it. In fact, tables might be the optimal way to use space and I won't mind bringing them at all.
I would get something like
I would get something like those, but I only wish they were wireless...
Huh
Not sure why I put question marks by Halo 3. I'll definitely have a copy.

I put the question marks in the second post that I edit because you didn't explicitly have H3 in your list. I'll edit it again. Thanks for clarifying.
Those headphones are hawt
I've been looking at getting a pair of these since Chicago. Standard price is between $100 and $150. Buy.com had a deal where you could get a pair for $80 with free shipping, but I hesitated too long.
If you use Google checkout as a new user and combine that $10 off with Buy.com's $5 off instant rebate you can still get a pair for $85 and free shipping. That is by far the best deal I have been able to find.
These are considered to be the best 5.1 surround sound headsets on the market.

Confirmed attendace.
On a side note. I have numerous friends that would like to come. Shaun(Mr Turbo) will be coming for sure as he has attended LANs before. He's going to bring his 360 with ?H3? There are about 3-5 more that would like to come.
They can all bring multiple controllers, ethernet cords, 360s and possibly TVs for them. Still not sure on how many copies of H3 though. 2 confirmed. Midnight since your are hosting the LAN how many people can come so I know who to invite?
If they can bring a
If they can bring a 360/H3/and a display then they're definitely good to go. Outside of that just use your best judgment. We're not going to run into problems with max attendance. We might run into problems if more than 5-6 people show up with only a smile expecting to LAN on everyone else's dime. Stress that the LAN is an interactive event, not a keg party to wander into and wander out of. I'm sure you won't bring anyone you wouldn't trust in your place.

There's a strong possibility I won't make it now. Newegg is throwing an event in Ontario, CA, and eSportsTV might be tapped to provide coverage. If so, I'm going, as it's a paying gig and will keep me from having to get a random job at some crappy place. So list me as tentative as of now, I'll let people know for sure as soon as I know for sure.

I’ve used these before,
I've used these before, and one of my friend has one. I've got the USB version, the AXPC's, and they are quite good. I don't know if they're worth $100, but definitely $90.
DJ
p.s. no I'm not plugging Tritton just because they gave me a set of AXPC's for free :).
Is there a difference
Is there a difference between Microsoft's $40 VGA cable and an off-brand's $20 VGA cable that comes with a Digital Audio Cable?
Currently Playing: Whatever I damn well please.
USB headsets don't work on 360
But the USB version won't work on the XBOX 360 alone. The version I posted will allow you to plug optical out of the 360 to the converter to the headset. Instant 5.1 surround sound in your ears from the XBOX 360 with volume control. This means you could have portable 5.1 surround sound.
Ya the AX360’s, the good
Ya the AX360's, the good ones :).

I’ve been using these
I've been using these exclusively for about 2 weeks now. I have been very impressed. They're sturdy, yet are quite comfortable for extended playing sessions. I've used them for about 4-5 hours straight without any discomfort.
There are a few minor things that could have been added for greater enjoyment: master in-line volume, in-line mute, separate base and vibration channles, ability to use batteries to power it. The provided mic is very nice and if you want to "mute" yourself you can just swing the boom up or disconnect the cable.
Sound quality is good (although slightly lacking in base) and creates a very believable landscape. I'm used to playing on a full 7.1 surround set, and while the quality isn't as good, it is quite remarkable for a headset. The main advantage of these headsets is portable 5.1 surround for any environment.
In a land of chipmunks, an angry gnome is king.

Is there a difference between Microsoft’s $40 VGA cable and an off-brand’s $20 VGA cable that comes with a Digital Audio Cable?
Make that $10 off-brand VGA cable. And no, they're all just cables. They all cost about $1.73 to make, and they all come from China. You're just as well going w/ the $10 ones off eBay, unless you just want to give Micro$oft more money for no apparent reason.

First off, thanks for the invite rapture! I would love to come LAN. Sadly I have not the funds to come out to a THX Lan from Kansas City, otherwise I'd totally be there. It may more than likely be 1 1/2 years before I ever attend a LAN since I am trying to hoard money to go back to a technical school to finish up my degree in video editing. I'd love to come out to a THX Lan but the best I can do is play with you guys online. See you in Halo 3!

Inevitably, I'm sure a few small (8') extension cords would come in handy. However, as long as we have Cat5e cables that are long enough, I have a ton of outlets in my house that the powerstrips will only magnify.
I see network architecture as our critical vulnerability. We still lack a switch, and I'm not naive enough to think we won't encounter problems. Hopefully, the problems won't surpass our collective knowledge base, which is pretty broad. However, we're gonna put a serious test on my cable modem and router if we achieve my goal of all boxes being signed into XBL. Every box reporting game stats to bungie.net and achievements to XBL at the end of every game over a single copper wire is sure to provide some interesting situations.

Probably not. The MS system seems to be set up so that no two boxes can have the same gamertag active at the same time. However, I'm sure moving it back to the 360 wouldn't be a problem. Just transfer it to the card before you go to the LAN and back to the 360 afterwards.
