THX Thursday Outing 8/16/07

On Thursday, Aug. 16th, there will be an "Olde Towne Revival" http://www.oldetownerevival.com/ Benefit concert at Crossroads, in downtown H'ville. Start time is 8pm, doors open at 7. Admission is $10, all of which will be donated to Olde Towne, and their attempts to re-open Huntsville's only microbrewery. It is being sponsored by Free the Hops, and there will be 4 local bands playing.

I say we make this the spot for our THX Thursday night gathering. I know we have some who will be unable to participate, as they are under 21, but this is a good cause. And it sounds like fun, too! So, let's see how many old-schoolers we can get to show up for this event.

BTW, this is being sponsored by Free the Hops, an effort that started in Birmingham to lift some of the silly alcohol restriction laws that have been in place in Alabama since the days of Prohibition. http://www.freethehops.org/

Can you not get in at all of you are under 21? or can you just not buy alcohol? I think some places mark your hand or something if you are under age.

It very well may be 19 and up. If so, the more the merrier. And in this case, you don't need to buy, nor consume, alcoholic beverages to support the cause.

Well, I enjoyed seeing JDOGG, DISAVOWED and his wife, and Mrs. Rapture at Crossroads tonight. Can't say that the music was particularly great... but it was for a good cause.
