The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
So the last concert I posted about never materialized like I was told, but don't fret because this one is inked. Three really good bands are set to rock it out at Crossroads 8/28/07. Check out Pollstar for the proof;)

Evans blue
While meh, live, Evans blue is a stellar band.
Evans who?
Am I just out of the current music scene, because I don't recognize any of these bands.
Perhaps it would help if the Rocket would play something besides
3 Doors Down
Pink Floyd
Black Crowes
Chevelle
every hour, and then once per day we get
Guns and Roses
Faith no More
AC/DC
They're like a frickin atomic clock with their repetitiveness. Sorry, I'm just a little disgusted with the Rocket. I swear to you that I was gone for 3.5 years and they play the same music as the day I left. I was spoiled with 105.3 out of San Diego. Their daytime DJ, Missy, also knew rock and roll front, back, and sideways. The DJs on the rocket do good to know how to pronounce the name of the band they just played (if they tell us at all).

Rocket use to play "Cold (but i'm still here)- Evans Blue" all the time like every hour almost
I you haven’t heard Evans
I you haven't heard Evans Blue, look into them. Great band.
It's not just you
Rant on. Their programming has actually been going downhill IMHO. I’m not a big fan of classic rock, and it seems like they keep playing more and more of it. I guess it depends on when you’re listening. Late evening isn’t bad. Early morning listening seems to be packed with stuff from the 70's. We already have a classic rock station.
I rarely listen to radio anymore, relying on my I-POD. Of course that almost guarantees stagnation. I've also occasionally started playing with services like Pandora. We have digital music channels through Mediacom that help also. Eventually though, I may wind up with something like XM.
I have XM Radio just because
I have XM Radio just because of my disgust for local radio and commercials. Unfortunately some of the XM channels have commercials now, but it's easy enough to find another one that doesn't. I have heard lately though that Sirius has better programming, but that shouldn't be an issue for long, the companies are supposed to be merging.
Evans Blue is a great band,
Evans Blue is a great band, I saw them play with taproot last spring up in nashville at the Exit-In. They put on a really good show, also I saw Submersed open for Alter Bridge at the vbc a few years ago. Framing Hanley is a newer band, which I have not had the change to see live, but I do have their album and there are some pretty good songs on there. I believe this would be a worthy concert of anyone who likes a good rock show...especially in the rock deprived Huntsville area. For some reason the Rocket did manage to sponsor this concert, though I am sure besides Evans Blue they have never heard of the other 2 bands because they will not play anything NEW!!!!
The rocket really sucks now days and midnight that is the reason I stopped listening to them and converted to xm. The Squizz on xm is a really good rock channel that is open to playing new bands and different sounds of rock. Old jimbo woods and freak daddy over at the rocket suck as dj's as do their playlists. I'm not sure why they will not play anything different than what I have been hearing from them since high school. I swear I have listened to maybe 5 mins of the rocket since converting to XM...there's just no variety whatsoever and all the people I have talked to about this agree that the rocket sucks big columbian donkey rocks.
Rocket
It seems to me they're afraid to play anything that doesn't conform to the slow, grinding, bluesy rock rhythm. One of their commercials even mentions they play Mudvayne. I haven't heard Mudvayne on the Rocket since I got back in town!
Every time I hear that jackass say "It's time to talk about Chickun Stickuns" I say "No, it's time to press the CD button on my head unit."
But you will love these
But you will love these Chicken Stickuns just because of their name!
$12.50
This concert is only going to cost $12.50, which is very cheap for what you will be getting imo. So if your worried about these bands since you have never heard them you should enjoy the show especially 3 pretty good bands for only 12.50.
