We want your HALO 3 screenshots here. Add yours.
The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.

WTF

That above was just a short
That above was just a short summary of my rant. Here's the full, jumbled thing.
Why would they make a Halo 3 Xbox360? Who are they targeting? Who? I can imagine there's only a very, very small minority of Halo fans who plan on buying a 360 who don't have one yet. Those who have been waiting until Halo 3 to purchase one probably stopped waiting once they saw the Elite, and now that they see this 360, they're probably mad. So what does Microsoft want Halo fans to do? Do they want us to buy TWO Xbox360s? Sure, I personally bought a Halo-edition Xbox, but it was far cheaper, my sister wanted an Xbox, and she got my old one. But why release this Halo 360 NOW? I don't understand it.
Well...I partially disagree
Halo fans I know of that don't own a 360:
Disavowed
Brick
Critter
Skorned
Hollywood
I don't know how likely they are to buy a 360 at all, besides Disavowed who seems pretty resolute, but for the fans like them a H3 edition 360 might be the tipping factor. If I can name five people then there are probably enough nationwide to sell a substantial number of comsoles.
A company offering a new product is almost never a bad thing. Perhaps your rant is misdirected in that you wish you had been able to purchase an H3 edition instead of your regular 360. I feel your pain, but for those of us who would like to have two 360s this may be the way to go.
+1.
+1.
HALO 3 is THE first HALO game made for the 360. There will be a lot of people buying consoles in Sept/Oct just to be able to play HALO 3.
Releasing the H3 360 before the Elite would have been a smack in the face to most all of the XBOX nation. The Elite is about the HDD and HDMI. Releasing an H3 360 with HDMI before the black Elite would haven't stolen hype from the tech that Microsoft was introducing. I think releasing the H3 360 before the Elite would have resulted in less sells for BOTH versions.
Also, I'm guessing the H3 360 will cost less than the Elite since it has a smaller HDD.
Halo 3 360
Rap, what was your source that the H3 360 would be just like a premium? I didn't hear Peter Moore say anything about it when I listened to the event this morning. I'm personally hoping it has HDMI.
Halo3 360
I'm still contemplating the purchase of a 360. I'm probably more likely to just by and elite or premium, or whatever they are called now. Unless the put something special in the 360 version other than funky graphics on the case.
Generally speaking I want the components going into my entertainment center to look low key and prefessional. I wasn't thrilled to hear that the original 360 was going to be white.

+1. That's one reason I was pumped about the black case of the Elite. If only the HD-DVD addon came in black.
Well, if you have it sitting
Well, if you have it sitting next you your computer, like I do, it doesn't look quite as bad. But I agree, I would much rather have a black 360.
People like myself will get
People like myself will get it. You know, the ones that collect everything? :)

Cash cow
The only reason they're doing this is to milk every drop of money they can out of the Halo series. It's just like the Zune. Although, that at least had some exclusive content on it. This is just a different color.
Zune
Perhaps we can get one of the 14 Zune owners to chime in on this.
H3 Zune
I only got it because I didn't have an MP3, plus it was Halo. It's like a video ipod except it has an FM radio function too, gets a decent signal as well.
Booyah.
I will be buying a 360 sometime in Sept., almost entirely for Halo3. Throwing this H3 edition in the mix has just increased my options by 50%. In my book, that's never a bad thing.
I chose to wait on purchasing a 360 for this very reason. I anticipated a bundled system that comes with the game. That the bundled system is also an H3 edition console is just icing on the cake.
Booyah.
