Keep running, there's a reason you're not paid to sing Mintoz. Besides, 18 and Life is the best track on there.
DJ
Best Track?
Sorry, but the best song is Holy Diver, then a close second by Synchronicity. But, what the hell? no Van Halen? They could squeeze "Jump" on there! VH must be to hard to play for non-guitar players...
Van and Bon Bons?
What aboot Bon Jovi... Nirvana? Those were late eighties, right? I don't really know, I wasn't really old enough to remember the eighties.
Btw...
Oh! by the way... "Ballroom blitz", and "Round and Round" are my favs, and what better rock song is there than "I Wanna Rock". Was "Running with the Devil" eighties?
Forget Best...
Forget the best song, what do you think is the worst?
My vote would go to Ratt. "Round and Round" just plain sucks.
And I'm personally not a fan of Van Halen (waaaay to much whining in the band), but I'm surprised that they're not in the game.
Cool...I guess
The song list is okay. I don't know a lot of the songs on it, but the ones I do know (Holy Diver, Electric Eye, Seventeen, Wrath Child) are pretty cool. I hope I come to like a majority of the songs like I did for GH 1 and 2.
WTF?
Where the balls is WhiteSnake? And Quiet Riot, why not Cum On Feel the Noise?
More Than Words, by Extreme.
I just can't get over no Whitesnake.
GH Encore
I'm gonna call Metal Health my favorite track from the list and 'we got the beat' as my most loathed.
@noob
IIRC, Nevermind by Nirvana was released in 1991. They might have released Bleach in the late 80s, but the Nirvana sound is definitely not in keeping with the 80s theme.
@rapscallion
IIRC, Jump by Van Halen is mostly organ. I am told that in the 80s (I think Jump was released about 1984?) that AB Stephens (a local music and piano shop) had a sign that said
"Fine for playing Jump: $50"
"Fine for playing Jump incorrectly: $100"
Bad example...
Okay, how about Hot for Teacher? Wonderful song. If only Eruption was released one year later...
Hot for Teacher
It's one of my favorites as well. The drum intro sounds like a race car idling. I love it.
rock on
the songlist is alright. im very pumped to see aleast one of the songs ive dreamed of being a GH song on it (electric eye) but i could have used more cowbell. also where the hell is money for nothing by dire straits, that guitar is amazing
PS3 and rock the eighties
anyone know how well this game will work with the ps3?? #1 works great w/ the adapter i have but the 2nd one sucks

No clue, but you can get your PS3 Guitar Hero fix when Guitar Hero III and Rock Band release later this year.

I'm not rocking the 80s
Not offering this as DLC via XBL really pisses me off. Usually we piss and moan about these types of decisions and then go buy them and support the developer anyway, but this is one instance where Activision will really not get their share of my $40, because I'm not buying a PS2 to play it with GH III and Rock Band on the horizon. However, I'd download it as an expansion pack in a heartbeat.
It was $50+tax. But man,
It was $50+tax.
But man, this game is SO WORTH IT. All I really wanted was more Guitar Hero songs, and that's what I got. Pretty much everything else is like GHII. Fun stuff, especially Flock of Seagulls and "Radar Love," among many others.
Just got done beating the
Just got done beating the game on hard.
Just for kicks and giggles, I tried playing the hardest/last song (Play With Me by Extreme) on Expert, and I got 83%!
