Ace Combat 6: Bringing Back the Flight Simulator?

I haven't played a flight simulator in years, but I used to love them. Back in the days when a PC didn't have to be good to run games I destroyed many a SAM site, enemy radar, and plenty of MIGs. I know virtually nothing about Ace Combat 6, but if it is worth its salt I think it could reinvent the genre. Online dogfights via XBL? What about a squadron vs squadron team battle? Online coop? The cutting edge graphics available on the 360 are just the tip of the iceberg, and the game is Xbox 360 exclusive.

Additionally, this uber-cool and uber-expensive controller peripheral is available for the mere sum of $150.

I'm going to bookmark this game and keep an eye on it. Looks like a ton of fun. I wonder if the game will support USB PC controllers.

I'm not sure I can put $150-200 into this game. It's a little risky.

Here's wishing someone would make an helicopter simulator. Yaw FTW.

Blazing Angels (a multi-platform game) has been out for a while, and you can dogfight on Live, as well as have squadron based skirmishes too. It's a great game, check it out.

I used to love flight simulators as well. I never was very good at them, though. This looks like an interesting game.

I actually thought about taking up real flying at one time. I think it would be an awesome hobby... or career even.

I tried the Blazing Angels demo and it didn't sell me. I did have hopes for it.

The XBL dogfighting looks pretty cool. I used to tear up the flight sims a while back. I loved multiplayer but it always turned into a one sided battle because no-one I knew played them. Live would make for some tense battles. Flight sims remain, to this day, the single reason I have to use 'inverted' Y axis controls for first person shooters.

forget the peripheral though.. sheesh 150 bucks? I can buy a couple guitar hero's for that price.

Let me know if anyone gets into this game, I'll definitely consider it if it has good XBL features.
