Halo 3 Pistol = Five-Shot Kill

As you've probably figured out, THX is now part of the Halo 3 Beta custom game scene. Oculus and I took a few moments to test out the pistol...err..."Magnum." Yeah, it's still called the Magnum. Here's the results:
Wielded Alone

Head Shots to Kill: 5
Body Shots to Kill: 7
Most Lucrative Combo: 4 Body Shots + 1 Final Head Shot
Dual Wielded
----------------
Head Shots to Kill: 7
Body Shots to Kill: 8
Most Lucrative Combo: 6 Body Shots + 1 Final Head Shot
The pistol's power is slightly nerfed when dual wielded. I assume this is to encourage single wielding, which encourages grenades and melees.
Was I the only one who kept zooming in with the pistol, only to get frustrated that I have no reticle when zoomed in.. weak. Pistol==nerfed.
It's better than Halo 2's poor excuse for a pistol.
I don't think so. It seemed to have an obnoxiously slow rate of fire.
The pistol being weaker while duel wielding just seems wrong.
Agreed. I thought Bungie's extensive testing and balancing was to make sure weapons wouldn't be nerfed once dual-wielded. I guess they have to make some compromises for the overall gameplay, even if they do seem ridonkulous (like the pistol).
