Yeah people come up.
Yeah people come up.
The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
Update: The Hushed Casket, Midnight, and some other THXers will be on Penn and Teller's: Bullshit! show on Showtime in early 2009 defending video gamers in show about video games and violence. Stay tuned for details.
I'm a rage fan from back in the day. I've always liked their music, but have seldom agreed with their message. I suppose it's like anything else, though-- take it with a grain of salt, and keep on rockin'! I guess I'm more of a Tom Morello fan (Audioslave, anyone?) and less of a de la Rocha fan....
I like rage as well, but will never agree with their anti war message. While saying that, its hard not to wanna start head bangin and fist pumpin when I hear "Killing in the name of" or "Bulls on parade."
As everyone said, great music, questionable message. I am not a fan of Tom Morello's post-Rage projects (Audioslave).
Rage, like other leftist people, just can't walk what they talk. How can you be anti-corporation and advocate living on $1/day and then charge normal ticket prices?
I heard their concerts are terrible. Nothing like going to a concert only to realize you've just gone to an activist rally for a cause you don't agree with. Just what I heard.
Often you'll find that the people who say they are fighting against "The Man" (Machine) are the same people who will then turn around and try to use the power of the government to take away your money or rights on other issues.
Awesome music, questionable message, blah blah blah, [insert other personal opinion here that nobody said yet]. [Talk about how much fun it is playing Killing in the Name Of in Guitar Hero], [addition that I can beat it on Expert]. [Statement bringing the topic full circle to RatM and being excited about their new music].
Here's the thing that gets me about opinionated bands. I don't mind the $30+ ticket prices for concerts. I don't mind that members of bands have political opinions. By all means, have an opinion. I damm sure have my own, and who am I to judge them for theirs?! But express those opinions in the appropriate forum-- i.e. NOT at a freaking MUSIC concert! I didn't pay $30 to hear about your political views. Whether or not I agree with them is irrelevant. Concert-goers pay their hard-earned money to hear the bands they like play music, not rant about Bush/the war/poverty/child slavery/etc....
I absolutely hate their anti-war message, because it just caters to liberals hard-x-core...[insert what everyone else said] but I love the music. Sleep now in the Fire, Killing in the Name of, and Guerrilla Radio are some of my favs. I am glad Audioslave broke up-RATM is way better.

Heard their comments... don't like them.
I guess you can make a stand against certain things. But if you knew the agendas of the companies that make everything you consume and if you boycotted companies that have different agendas than you, then you'd probably be naked, in bad health, bored, and stinky.
+1 Rap. If I refused to patron companies and recording artists that don't share my political and religious views then I'd be all of the adjectives you listed. Long ago I decided to separate the two ideas.
You're already one of them.

They're playing shows now!
