Liquid cool your XBOX 360

Submitted by rapture on Mon, 04/23/2007 - 9:26am.

I've been getting into liquid cooling lately as I'm building my new gaming PC. I came across this piece of hardware that I had not heard about. Koolance sells the liquid cooling kit on their website for $289 and it is available in white or black. If you've already got a pump and radiator, you can get the kit for around $100.

As a geek, this is just cool. Why would I have one? For no good reason, I guess. I mean, are there any utilities out there for over-clocking your XBOX 360? Perhaps this would greatly reduce the fan noise in the 360, however, it may be offset by the radiator in the cooling kit.

Still, this is a very cool add-on for the XBOX 360. I believe before I would add liquid cooling to my 360, I would add a glass window and some UV lights. Hmm...

Reducing heat in my

Reducing heat in my entertainment center is a big consideration for me. Keeping your 360 cool would certainly add longevity to it's already sketchy life. I remember the first DIY tutorials on Joystiq when the 360 first came out. Parts cost was about $300 then. For someone to offer an entire plug and play kit at that price is pretty reasonable.

On a side note, there's got to be something cool that that could be done using the space that was previously occupied by the 360's cooling fans, which would then be unnecessary.

Interesting...

Water cooling = win.

Hard OCP was the first to water cool an Xbox 360, and the end result is an efficiently-cooled 360 with extended longevity and a quieter machine.
