The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
* The redesigned Achievement notification pop-up (toast) will show the name of the unlocked Achievement and the gamerscore value. You’ll see this information the moment you earn an achievement. No more popping open the guide and interrupting your gameplay. (screenshot)
* Enhanced family settings features for Xbox LIVE communications enable different defaults for video chat and voice chat.
* A new Xbox LIVE Marketplace blade lets Xbox LIVE members access the content they seek - whether it is game content or TV shows and movies (available in the United States) - from one place.
* Updates to Xbox LIVE Arcade allow owners to see which Xbox LIVE Arcade games their friends are playing and join in the fun. Xbox LIVE members can also compare progress of leaderboard scores and Achievements directly with all friends on their friends list. The Tell a Friend capabilities have been expanded as well.
* A new option in Auto Downloads provides faster access to the entire collection of free, trial-version Xbox LIVE Arcade games.
* New progressive download controls provide easy access to optimal viewing options by letting people fast-forward, rewind, pause and resume as their video is downloaded from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
* Extension of the background download functionality will allow owners to set their Xbox 360 console to turn off automatically after downloads are complete.

Yummy deliciousness.
It seems interesting to see how it will work in conjunction with Live Anywhere. I'm excited, to say the least.
Yeah, awesome to see Live
Yeah, awesome to see Live Anywhere and Live Messenger interface. I also like the change in achievement awarding that immediately tells you what you achieved and how much it is worth. I always have to press the guide button when I unlock an achievement to figure that out. A dedicated marketplace blade is also a good idea. Finally, the ability to queue up a bunch of downloads, go to sleep, and have the console turn off when it is finished it uber-cool.
A dedicated marketplace blade?
My mistake for having but a cursory glance at the video. A new blade for marketplace, eh? With the Video Marketplace, it seemed necessary. Although I can't help but feel that all the 360 owners without Xbox Live are missing out.
I wonder if they document each version of the dashboard.
That's a nice update. I
That's a nice update. I wonder how having a new Marketplace blade will affect current backgrounds and themes.
That was the next thing on my mind.
Well, they said pretty
Well, they said pretty explicitly that the blade will have its own theme that MS will change depending on season/promotions/etc. I would expect it will be totally independent of your theme and not affect it in any way.
