Halo 3 Legendary Edition Revealed
Master Chief's helmet aims to please later this year.
by Rob Burman, IGN UK
UK, March 7, 2007 - Microsoft has finally unveiled some images, demonstrating exactly what the $100 Legendary Edition of Halo 3 will look like on release - and it's rather impressive. Although it would have to be for $100, really.
This four-disc special-edition of Halo 3 comes complete with a replica MJOLNIR Mark VI helmet. At first we thought it would be life-size and that we'd be able to wear it round the house, but then we realised it was only 10" and, as such, probably wouldn't even fit a baby. Very disappointing.

Inside the helmet is a stand to hold the game disc, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Halo 3, a high resolution collection of all the cinematics from Halo 1 and 2 and a disc with machinima features based on the Halo universe. The Legendary Edition is set for release alongside the Collector's Edition and standard version when Halo 3 emerges later this year.

I am so getting that.
I hope it's big enough to fit my Chihuahua-Dachsund mix's head. Who am I kidding? It'll probably fit her entire body.

It looks exactly like the prototype pictures posted a couple months ago. I thought Frankie said the final product would look much nicer.
It's just an alpha build.
It's just an alpha build. You shouldn't apply healthy skepticism or any ideas of common sense that would lead you to believe the final version will look like the one that everyone sees now.
Yeah, it looks exactly the
Yeah, it looks exactly the same. If they didn't claim that the picture is new, I wouldn't believe it. Surely they are going to improve it somehow... surely.

All I know is when they make a real helmet available, it will sell like hotcakes. Who in their right mind wouldn't want that.

According to this...
According to this, there will be more than 450,000 Legendary Edition copies of Halo 3. That's a lot less than the 2.5 million copies of the Limited Edition Halo 2 they shipped.
No
No, unless your head is square and really small.
lol
lol, so would a cat's head be considered square? Maybe if you look at it from the front?
BTW: Everyone meet EnragedGnome.
BTW: Everyone meet EnragedGnome. He's the dirty lagger that is #1 in kills/game. He's also got a bot named after him in the game. If you are in a game and EnragedGnome isn't lagging, it's the bot and he'll be easy to kill.
Mintz: Gnome was at Lanbex as were a few other testers.
Which one was EnragedGnome?
Which one was EnragedGnome? I remember seeing his name on scoreboards, but I'm having trouble placing a face to the name.
