The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.
Tonight's episode was well made, but it seems that Jack now has super powers. He's apparently a vampire now, too.
Looking forward to the next 2 hours on Monday night, though.

Wow, what a show!
That was possibly the best episode i have ever seen, this season shall be a beast.
Keep it clean, I'm rollin!
I agree, J. I thought Hour
I agree, J. I thought Hour #4 was one of the best episodes in 24's history. Finally I got something I've been waiting several seasons for in the "bomb" we see at the end.
I'm not so sure that _______ is really dead though.
Yeah
I dont know that ------ is dead either, probably just went into shock, I sure would have. That was a chilling moment though.
Keep it clean, I'm rollin!
It BLOWed
Totally. Blew your mind, eh?
24
Since 24 was 120 minutes long last night, it completely through off my night. I forgot that extra hour was going to be thrown in there.
I'm sorry I missed HEROES. The second hour of 24 was relatively slow.
Are those television shows?

Two hours of 24? O RLY? Good
Two hours of 24? O RLY? Good stuff.
24
Ok. That just about does it. Last night's episode was terrible. Production-wise, it was outstanding. But, the writers must think we don't have a brain. Apparently, Jack is invincible and has never missed his target while shooting his gun. I've put up with this for 5 seasons, but the last episode was over the top.
Tonight he rolled up on 6-8 terrorists by himself with a pistol and took all of them out. They had automatic weapons. They were guarding two items worth many billions of dollars. He had his pistol and little bit of cover. He fired the first shot revealing his location. The enemies had a bit of a flank going on but Jack killed them all including executing the leader by hanging him from a chain by himself. Jack uses a bot.
This show gets bumped way down on my season passes.
Yeah, that was pretty stupid
Yeah, that was pretty stupid and unbelievable, like most of television these days.
The latest episode was even worse. I was siding with Vice President Daniels on the whole microchip-vs-Audrey issue. I mean, come on, Spock said it best, "The needs of many outweigh those of a few."
Jack is getting stoopid.
I think i say it best...
When I say it is only television! You watch it to be entertained. I know I watch shows like 24 for the enjoyment, not to decide if it is logical or not. If I want real life situations I turn to the news, but sometimes i need a break. You cant tell me Heroes is believable? I really cant see people being able to fly, read minds, heal, reach through physical objects, be invisible...but i still watch and enjoy it.
Heroes is science
Heroes is science fiction.
24, while fiction, is an action/drama that uses real-world politics and events to sculpt their show. You don't see people turning invisible, having super-human strength, or flying in the sky (except for Jack on occasion).
The world has come to learn about Muslim extremists due to their highly public terrorist acts over the years (9-11, London bombings, WTC, etc.). 24 shows this all the time. I don't know about you, but I've had enough of the news.
Agreed
I agree thats why I enjoy these shows because its hard to stomach the majority of news that i see and hear. whether its science fiction or real world fiction its all fiction, which are both very needed to give you some sense of entertainment that you know is not real.
News stuff
Real news outlets are a necessary evil. The content is prepackaged for entertainment value and is often filtered to support an underlying theme. However, I can't get enough of it at times...
24 sounds cool, I hear about it all the time, but haven't found the time to jump in and watch the first episodes. I am currently a huge fan of SUPERNATURAL since I've quit watching LOST.
Quote by Mintz from Spock:
"The needs of many outweigh those of a few."
Don't know the context of this statement but I'm probably taking it the wrong way by thinking it sounds a little socialist like. Probably have to see the show to understand.
JDOGG it really doesn't get any better than that avatar. Seriously it really doesn't.
The quote from Dr. Spock is
The quote from Dr. Spock is an extension of his Vulcan logic. In most of the Star Trek episodes/movies it was used in the context of sacrificing 10 lives to save 10,000, even though those 10 were friends of yours.
Ah, I see
Put that way, I see the point of the statment. I was interpreting 'needs' to be different from lives though in this case. I've watched quite a few original Star Trek episodes, but I didn't know if the microchip-vs-Audrey connection that Mintz was talking about was about a different topic.
BTW... The Next Generation was my favorite, and (aside from the original series) probably will never be surpassed or matched in the Star Trek series..
oh, and 'Enterprise' was an abomination
Yes, the microchip-vs-Audrey
Yes, the microchip-vs-Audrey connection is more of a "sacrifice one life to save untold tens of thousands."
You're right! It's just fake
You're right! It's just fake TV! Why doesn't 24 just bother to hack out all the material that make it realistic, like the US government and the "real-time" element?
My point is, the show strives to be pragmatic, but ends up being ridiculous (like with the episode in question). They should make a larger effort if they want to maintain the audience that is drawn to the show's practical setting.
