Halo Movie

Whats the latest gossip/update on the Halo movie?? Will it be based on Halo and Halo2 or the books? Will it ever get off the drawing board?? OR...........will mainstream Hollywood turn it into a lumberjackish fiasco like they did with Doom?

Last I heard, Universal and Fox studios had pulled financial support, but the movie was moving forward regardless. This could be PR BS, but I figure M$ could bankroll the whole thing themselves, and probably would, so I tend to believe things are fine.

Yeah, they said that WETA is still working on stuff regardless. I agree, I think this is a small hickup more than anything.

Microsoft actually said they will not fund the project themselves if they can\'t find a partner. MS says it does not want to enter the movie industry like that. I personally think the project is just at a standstill.

HALO is old to a movie company. H2 has been out for a long while. They probably see a shallow fanbase.

Prediction: Once H3 hype starts to build and once H3 outsells any video game, a movie studio will get turned on to the HALO story and production for the movie will be in full swing.

I cannot believe the lack of interest already. In my(and most everyone elses) the movie should have been here after the launch of H2. Am I alone when I say that I was %100 disgusted with the debauchery of the Doom movie?

Video game movies as a genre have suffered from very poor translation from game to movie.

I Heard that the Halo Movie is back in pre-production after a long time working out what studios are going to fund the production.

With (Wingnut Studios) putting their hand up, Peter Jackson previous director of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy solemely agreed to take on the role as executive producer. He believes that it would be a mistake not to recognise Halo storyline.

The XBOX/XBOX360 game series of Halo has been such a success and it will take a while to make a film.

I strongly believe that Halo the movie will be released in upcomming years and it will be at the top of the box office i can bet on that.

ACtually, it has. It holds the reccord for the fastest selling piece of entertainment, entertainment meaning movies and games. Also, replying to the new post, they'll probably have to alter some parts of it so that it doesn't seem the Marines make a radical jump from H1 armor and H2, and other small things like that, I'm hoping they can seamlessly meld the Halo plotline into three movies:probably by the time those projects are in the bag, Halo 5 might be out. The Halo movies, according to my predictions, will strike an ucanny resemblance to the Star Wars series, judging by how much movies will come out.

I'm a complete and utter Halo fan. I've read the books and actually enjoy the plot, unlike those who bought it for the online gaming. AM hoping fo XBOX LIVe.
