Bike sale

Submitted by Brick on Sat, 04/29/2006 - 11:42am.

Bicycles Etc has a sale running today. They are taking 20% off MSRP on just about everything they carry. Even if they have to order it.

Re: Bike sale

OH MAN, I am totally there! What have I been doing wasting time at home today?! :)

Re: Bike sale

Sarcasm? I can\'t tell.

Rap asked at some point to let him know if I ran across a deal on a bike. 20% off MSRP isn\'t too bad for these types of bikes. That puts a Gary Fisher Tassajarra somewhere in the $600 range, a Piranah somewhere in the 500$ price range, and a Trek 4500 somewhere in the $400 price range.

Yes, I was being sarcastic, I guess I\'m not that good at it. :(

Re: Bike sale

We went by there. Saw some really good deals.

Sale lasts until Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.

Re: Bike sale

Dude, why\'s it always gotta be Sunday? \"Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!\" Just doesn\'t sound cool enough, I guess.

Re: Bike sale

Usually they are closed on Sundays, but they be open today from 1-5. I think they are trying to boost sales for this quarter.

Re: Bike sale

I know I spent plenty in there this weekend. 2 bikes plus gear. Their books should be looking better. And I didn\'t even get everything I needed.

Brick,
Remember that budget I had at the beginning ot this, it was about $150 ago (not counting Casey\'s stuff) and I still need gloves and shorts and tools and..... Some of that may have to wait though.

Re: Bike sale

Keep the loaner stuff as long as you need to. Borrow the tools that you can. You got the biggest expenses out of the way. I think long term you will be glad you spent more and got the HKEK. You\'ve got a nicer bike than I do...well...at least you will after a few upgrades. :)

Monica just bought shoes and clipless pedals. I got a a shock/fork pump, new grips, and a cleaning kit for the camel back.

So, when will the new bike be in?

Re: Bike sale

And can I ride it?

Re: Bike sale

I came to my senses. I almost went crazy and bought a nice bike. But, there\'re other things I need/want that I think I would use/enjoy more. So...maybe later.

I broke down this afternoon and ordered some more stuff, what can I say, I\'m weak, beside I needed some of it if just Casey and I go. Casey ordered a Camelbak too (a Magic, think slightly smaller women\'s version of the Mule, She tried it on at Dick\'s and liked it). She still needs some stuff to ride without me or someone with tools/pump though. I may fix that when I pick up my bike. It should be in in 7-10 days, and yes, you can ride it.

Don\'t even talk about upgrade yet, if it ain\'t broke I don\'t plan to replace it anytime soon. What all is in that cleaning kit anyways? I was thinking about getting one because I can\'t think of anything I have off hand that\'ll clean some parts of it. So far I have just been drying it out as much as possible and rinsing it out before and after use.

Re: Bike sale

Monica has a camel back called a \"charm\" that she likes...another one of those women things...

The cleaning kit just has brushes that fit inside the bladder and down the tube, a couple of cleaning tablets, and a blue plastic insert to help it dry out. I mainly needed the brushes, because despite the periodic application of bleach, it looks like some kind of film has started growing inside the bladder. So far it just adds to the flavor, but I\'m afraid it could become trouble at some point.

Too bad about Rap. Maybe next time.

So what word censors to \"little nub?\"

The name of a popular sporting goods store.

Oh, little nub\'s?

EDIT: Yup, Dick\'s.
