I've been talking to Lavone about a course in Hampton Cove. Hays Preserve is going to be out of the question because it's protected from just about any kind of unnatural development. Too bad, because they've got plenty of land, it's scenic, and disc golf is generally eco-friendly.

I've found that the city has 100 acres at Cove Park which is just past the Hampton Cove Golf Course. There are baseball field there now taking up several acres. It's low and some of it is a marsh. There are parking lots and part of the land is right next to the beautiful golf course. The city could move some dirt and it'd be a nice open place to play. It would be a great way to reclaim land that the city owns but isn't using. I've laid out 18 holes there already: http://ericatkins.com/files/cove-park-sample.jpg

My drawing shows that you can have a long course on that space (most holes are long and in the open...not too difficult...just long). Since I drew the course and inspected the boundary lines, it appears that several of the holes on the left of the map are on RTJGT property. So, the actually course would probably sit directly south of the ballparks, not to the west of them.

But, I think the next course, after Monte Sano and Indian Creek will be down south on Bailey Cove...if I remember correctly from an old forum post I read. I don't think Lavone's been out to see Cove Park yet and I don't think he's talked to the city about this location. But, he does have the go ahead to find more spots to install courses.

Man. If we can get one installed at Cove Park, I'll be there every day to help build it. And then, I'll play it weekly. I hope it's beginner friendly, with alternate hole locations to make it more challenging for the competitive player.

If I'm available, I'll help out at Monte Sano.
