The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.

Get notified of game nights and important THX announcements via the hushedcasket Twitter account. You can get the messages on your cell phone, through email, Facebook, and many other ways. Here's how it goes down.
The Sport Thing
Why does everyone care so much about whether things are sports? Are sports just cool by virtue of the word? Does being defined as a sport mean I should enjoy something more or less?
I think the entire point of classifying something as a sport is to validate yourself to others because you enjoy watching or participating in it. Conversely, the act of attacking something for "not being a sport" is seen as an agregious assault on the very basis of what makes it cool, and is thus a common tactic of enemies of a particular activity. It's all hippie-feel-good-social-bullshit.
Is Nascar a sport? Is Nascar difficult to spell? Does the word Nascar sound pleasing to your ear? Will participating in Nascar bring you closer to God? Does Nascar written on it's side look like a toaster oven? I don't know any of these things, nor do I care.
If you like something, do it, sport or not. If you don't, don't. Whatever you decide, be comfortable with it, and don't feel like you have to validate it to anyone.
That is all.
