Be undead

The Hushed Casket was founded in 2002 shortly after the launch of the XBOX console. Today the Hushed Casket is a thriving community of gamers, playing together and publishing news and stories that have appeared in major media properties like Newsweek, G4TV, USA Today, and Penny Arcade. Some game developers have even referenced our guides and news to support their gamers. We don't play Halo. We LAN Halo.

Bungie teases us with unseen Halo 3 footage

Is Bungie working on a major update for Halo 3? In the video below we see a video shot in what appears to be the Halo 3 engine. In it you see what looks like a real-time map editor and multiple non-MC/non-Elite characters.

Also, at the end of the video you see the Superintendent logo.

My guess? Bungie is working on a new multiplayer experience with many new playable characters. I would not be surprised if we see cross-platform functionality (XBOX 360 and PC gamers playing together) in environments that support 32 players in a game.

There will be no Halo 4. Halo 3 is getting a major overhaul. The update will cost $10-$20 and will be installed onto the XBOX 360 hard drive after the Fall 08 update.

Avenged Sevenfold coming to Huntsville for Big Spring Jam

Rock Band introduced me to Avenged Sevenfold. I've heard their music before, and recall enjoying their sound, but was even more struck by their lyrics. They write about some pretty mature and thought-provoking stuff, and in a way that doesn't alienate their listeners. It doesn't come off as religious, but still it delves rather deep into some metaphysical elements that separate them from other metal bands.

They're coming to Huntsville on Sept. 26th for the Big Spring Jam.

Return.

So, you may have noticed I've been a ghost in the online gaming community and gamingtv.us has been down most of the summer.

Basically, I have been editing videos and doing photography non-stop for a christian youth camp in Wisconsin. What happened to GTV before I left was somehow, we were putting out some sort of nasty email spam or something in our site code(I still don't get it), and the owner of the hosting company(I thought I knew the owner but apparently there's a company higher than him that owns it all) demanded our whole account and everything get terminated. Apparently it didn't get totally deleted...just the entire website, minus the video files themselves. At that point, I was leaving for the whole summer....and to be honest, my enthusiasm for GTV had been waning in general. To be perfectly honest it's a hobby that's taken wayyyy too much of my time and I barely had time to game as it was....gaming has taken a bit of a backseat in my life. Basically, I am saying effective as soon as I pay my last bill, I'm taking GTV offline, forever. I will not be opening any new websites like GTV....ever. I gave it a pretty good shot...but trying to do things like contests and just paying the hosting bills have been a slow drain on my wallet that I need for other things.

I'm just telling you guys to fill in the blanks, and I just want to be a normal gamer again. I'll probably be dropping the "trigger119" handle and changing it to something else. I honestly hate being recognized online...I'd just rather game with my friends and just...HAVE FUN. What a novel idea. I'll probably just change my gamertag on Live so you don't have to re-add me. I love playing with THXers, and I hope to see you guys online again. Officially I am done working at this youth camp late August-early September...so I'd anticipate me coming back to Live sometime in September.

Geometry Wars 2 Rundown

What it Is
Geometry Wars 2 is the sequel to fun pick-up-and-play original. The controls are simple: Left stick moves, right stick shoot, triggers detonate a bomb. You shoot everything that isn't you.

What's Different
A couple new enemies (rocket ship, near-invulnerable orb, slow-moving pink squares), exploding gates, and multiple game modes. "Geoms" are dropped by killed enemies that increase your multiplier. Your multiplier does not reset when you die. You only have one weapon pattern. Local multiplayer is also available.

Why it's Fun
It's simple to play, but challenging to master. The quick action gives you an adrenaline rush when there are many enemies onscreen at once. When you lose all your lives, you can almost instantly start a new game, making "just one more game" a mantra to repeat over the course of a few hours. When you get a high score in a mode, someone on your friends list with the next highest score is always displayed in the upper-right hand corner, giving you a goal to reach.
